My First choice is always the Tail Bag then Tank Bag .. then Back Pack. Perhaps it is just my Riding style but at Highway Speeds the Tumi Motorcycle Back Pack I received as a gift feels like a sail

also depends on your riding position i imagine... |
Backpack all the way.
I'm not about to buy something like a tank bag when I have back packs kicking around. I understand where a lot of people are coming from, but I'm just the type to make what I already have do the job. And I did about 8 hours with it on this summer, and I couldn't tell it was there after a while anyway. By that time, my back and legs are cramping up. |
I use a backpack mostly, but also have a small duffel bag that I can bungee down on the passenger seat.

Tank bag. Backpacks are bad for your back. :skep:

For me it just depends on how far I'm riding or more so...how much crap do I need to take with me.
For the occasional mountain blast I use a tankbag...the Joe Rocket Manta XL which holds a decent amount of stuff. When I went to VIR last year and was staying for a long weekend I took the tankbag plus wore a backpack. As far as having a preference...IF what I need with me will fit into the tankbag...that is my choice for sure. It stays in place and when I stop I can take it off the tank and carry it with me since it has a carry handle plus a shoulder strap. It also has a rainproof cover made into it...great product. |
Definitely tank bag. I thought I was dying by the time I got home from the gap with a backpack.
I even have the small ICON Primer tankbag that is perfect for short trips to hold wallet, cell phone, etc |
