On my old Suzuki, I have to take off my right caliper to take off the wheel. And I always used a torque wrench to tighten it down. Yet I still stripped one of the aluminum threads in the caliper mounting hole.
After an hour or so of cussin, I called AAA Metric in Denver: http://www.aaametric.com/. They had the complete kit for installing a metric Heli Coil. By complete, I mean the right drill bit, the right tap, and a bunch of coils in a nice wooden box. That was about eight years ago, and the repair is probably stronger than the other threads.
