Which do you prefer and why? I don't have a tankbag so by default and because I have plenty of them I use a backpack.

Neither.......Tail bag FTW.

Tank bags suck, because big ones interfere with riding.

I used both for my trip this past weekend...clothes in the backpack, SunPass (toll thingy) transponder and miscellaneous other crap in the tank bag.

I use tankbag. back packs always seem uncomfortable over gear and I feel as though they are "pulling" as I'm riding.

all i've ever had was a tank bag.

keep a ziplock bag in there, put all the valuables in there if it rains.

Truth, strap it on and forget about it. (as long as you don't take attachment lessons from Drewpy)
Never in the way, not restricting your movement.

Plus, with enough weight, it makes wheelies super easy! Just ask ebbs.

FTMFW......Or there are others that mount on both sides, as long as your exhaust isn't in the way.

That looks really small.

But it's made as a quick-detach so you carry it as a backpack.

That's tiny; looks like a toiletry bag.
