For me to be legal, inspection and registration are due, have not had a chance to take care of either due to work but should this week hopefully/finally.

I went out a couple of weeks ago on Saturday and Sunday and ran into a license check point each day, luckily managed to narrowly avoid both without incident and decided it's not worth going back out until I'm legal.

Yep, they are basically trying to make up for the revenue shortfall for the state and I don't want to have to contribute to that Dave and Derf thread.

Wow, the shit the states are pulling now with this economy. The keeping your tax return really puts me over the top.

We have them here from time to time before it would be like a few times a year and they would pretty much announce it as a booze it and lose it campaign, but these days they are on our backroads stopping traffic both ways:td:

There is one town about an hour south of me that the mayor has told cops to ticket everyone going even 1MPH over the limit. The town is having issues because property taxes have been capped and they're losing money. They decided to make up for the lost revenue by issuing speeding tickets.
