What time would you guys be getting there? I would try to get there by 7 or 8. Hopefully while I still have some daylight, then grab soem dinner and maybe abeer or 3 before turning in.

Hope you can join us for some. It's only a 4 more hours from there to Little Switz on Friday.

Probably not, the KLR is calling me for this trip. Switching between the two bikes its just way more comfortable to plop down on the KLR than hunch over the CBR. I can do highway speed easily, doing 80 all day on the KLR, I switched to a larger front sprocket.

Tuggles (hehehehe) seems like the place to stay

Gas Man 08-17-2011 07:10 PM

Ok, just wanted to make sure the KLR was going to be able to keep up.

Gas Man 08-22-2011 09:11 PM

Thursday night at tuggles?

Me, trip, derf, tommy

Capt?

Are we the entire rally? Same people for tuggles & big lynn lodge??

I want to call both places for reservations.

Trip 08-22-2011 09:19 PM

low turn out, suck

Should I call ontwo/kevin and see if he has any plans on coming?

Don't know about tuggles yet. Classes start this week so I'll know when I see the syllabus.

Gas Man 08-22-2011 09:30 PM

Well if he comes that makes an even 6.

who else are we forgetting?

I just want to make sure rooming isn't an issue.

I still need to talk to derf about rooming wed night in waynesboro.

Thur night at tuggles, cool with everybody?

Fri & sat night at BLL

Sunday we all head out.

Gas Man 08-23-2011 10:10 PM

I have booked 1 room for derf and me in waynesboro for Wed Sep 14th night. Just a few miles from BRP.

Thursday, derf & I will do the BRP from there to Tuggles. It should be a nice, leisurely ride. We will stay here Thursday night. Trip is also meeting us here. It's $56 a night for 2 double beds. I have reserved 3 rooms.

Capt will let me/us know if he's game (depending on his class schedule).
Tommy, needs to let me/us know if he's in for the night.
Trip, is checking with Kyle & ontwo, to see if they are game.

This will determine if we need 2 or 3 rooms. Please let me know so I can adjust the reservation.

Friday, we will make a slow and liesurely ride down the BRP to Little Switz & Big Lyn Lodge. I will speak with Vickie tomorrow to confirm our rooms & pricing. Again, I'm shooting for 3 rooms.

Gentlemen, please let me know if anybody in the above list won't be staying for Friday & Saturday night.

Sunday, Trip & myself will finish the BRP and a trip thru the Smokey Mountains National Park putting us just south of Knoxville. Anybody & everybody is welcome to join us.

Trip 08-23-2011 11:16 PM

you people are bitches for bailing out on this, except for marko. It's out of the commonwealth and he has that built in excuse.

tommymac 08-24-2011 07:10 AM

I am good for tuggles on thurs night, Will most likley slab it down 81 to make time and meet you guys around 7 ish.

A larger turnout would be nice but I am so in need of getting away for a few days I am realy looking forward to this.

Gas Man 08-24-2011 10:21 AM

I agree with trip. It's gg to be awesome with us there cause we are part of the cooler group.

That is great tommy. You leaving sunday as well? Derf was talking about following trip & I and then grabbing 81N. You could do the same.

I never said I'd come...so I've never bailed on a single rally in my entire TWFix tenure. I've made it very clear that I won't be seen at any rally.

But you did come to the NE rally a couple of years back, granted that was in the commonwealth so you get a pass there LOL

Captain Morgan 08-24-2011 05:38 PM

Yep, I'm in. My online class has a week off at the perfect time. Didn't get the syllabus from my other prof today, but told him I'll be out of town on Fri. Looking forward to it. I'm off work Thurs, Fri and Mon, but have class at 10am Mon. I may try to join you for the remainder of the BRP Sun and just get home super late. Won't know till then, but nobody will be depending on me for anything Sunday anyway.

OK, 3 rooms verified and reserved for Big Lynn Lodge.

The parkway rooms were booked already, so we have mountain view motel rooms
Quote:

We also offer in rooms 117, 118, 119, and 120 a slightly different style or room. These rooms have the AC and cable TV; but they also have knotty pine walls and one of the best views on the property.
2 double beds.

$143.19 per room, per night INCLUDING breakfast & dinner for both people staying.

1 week out cancel policy if I need to cancel this reservation.

Gas Man 09-08-2011 11:18 AM

Ok gentlemen and Tommy that are coming.

Are my above lodging reservations still acceptable?

trip, ever hear back about our 6th guy?

Trip 09-08-2011 11:29 AM

No

Gas Man 09-08-2011 01:17 PM

Ok, well do we plan on absorbing the cost of the 3rd room into all 5 guys

or

do we want to dump the 3rd room and divide 2 rooms between 5 guys for a cost savings??

I am ok with dividing the cost up 5 ways, I am not ok sleeping on the floor. If someone else wants to crash on the floor, they can. We will have to work out how to make that person pay too though.

tommymac 09-08-2011 02:55 PM

WTF, gentelmen and TOMMY that is unacceptable lol

Captain Morgan 09-08-2011 05:44 PM

I'm ok sleeping on the floor. Dump the 3rd room and just divide the total cost of the 2 rooms by 5 and call it good.

Edit: see if the food at Big Lynn is included for a 5th person or if food is only for 2 people per room, cause that would make a 5 way split a bit unfair if the 5th person has to pay for food on top of room cost.

Gas Man 09-08-2011 08:27 PM

I either. I can't sleep on the floor. However, I did check before... cot is available. I will call tomry and check on prices to drop it to 2 rooms at tuggles & big lynn lodge.

There is a charge for the added person for the food. I will confirm numbers Friday when I cancel the 3rd room.

K. Then I would think we'd still be ok by adding that cost in and dividing the total cost between all 5 people. No point in anybody paying more than others.

Gas Man 09-10-2011 01:11 PM

Yeah I think total both rooms and divide by 5.

Gas Man 09-12-2011 02:24 PM

Talked to Big Lynn Lodge... cancelled the 3rd room and it adds $27 per night for the extra person, due to the food. They also will provide a cot as well.

So we are all set now.

Bike been transformed from this
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3...rStand013a.jpg

To bike trip mode
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3...TQ1Ni5qcGc.jpg

Captain Morgan 09-18-2011 01:14 PM

Nice. I didn't realize they stripped down that much. May have to get one of those bikes in about 10 years when I have some spare change.

I'm looking forward to the trip. I mapped it out again. From my door to Tuggles Gap is about 10 hours, mostly interstate. I'd really like to ride some of the country roads in WV, rather than interstate through there, but that puts the trip around 12.5 hours per google maps. Hard telling what the true time would be since I wouldn't be on interstate and would be rolling through podunk towns on back roads that I don't know. I'm thinking about getting on the road from my house Wed about 8:30pm after my daughter gets picked up and staying in Washington Court House, OH, which is about 4 hours from home via interstate. I have some Hilton Honors points saved up, so I might as well use them.

tommymac 09-19-2011 12:19 AM

I am just hoping to get some rest in these next few days leading up to the trip. At this rate i may make it to tuggles, say hi to everyone then pass out LOL

Gas Man 09-19-2011 12:41 AM

Yeah capt. I paid good money to make it transform like that. Trunk detach kit, street glide seat & windshield. That's all aside of the other custom work.

I hear tommy. For different reasons. I just busted my back all day at home. Cleaning thru the house (like fall cleaning). Got a huge pile of donation, put out a bunch of trash, and then moved all the furniture into 1 room. Cut the grass and trimmed down the back yard garden plants. Then proceeded to rip out all the carpet. Getting new carpet put in tuesday, then put all the furniture back. Hopefully pack my clothes monday night. I know tuesday will be a long day as well.

Trip 09-19-2011 12:42 AM

Things keep getting better for me. I pulled a muscle in my back coughing up my lungs yesterday.

Riding is going to be fun....

Gas Man 09-19-2011 12:46 AM

I've done tt before trip. But it was my neck muscles.

the kicker for me is I havent had the time to do all that stuff at home that needs to be done too LOL.

I packed soem stuff yesterday just need a few things and will throw iit all in my hard cases.Chance of t-storms in ny thurs i am hoping that doesnt affect my departure time. if all goes well I will be on the road around 10. if I leave too early I will get caught in the tail end of rush hour through brooklyn and SI.

Its prolly gonna take 8 -9 hours total (my guess) 5-6 hours of riding, plus 2 20 minute gas stops, plus a half dozen look at that view stops at 15-20 minutes a piece. I rode a bit of it on sunday, less than 50 miles, took me a little over an hour and there was no traffic at all, especially compared to the columbus day trip last year

Gas Man 09-19-2011 10:39 PM

Cool tommy.

I agree derf. I was just stating what gps travel time is. Total time is making a leisurely day of it.

I take it since I haven't heard more about it, you're just meeting me at waynesboro?

Trip 09-19-2011 10:44 PM

I got an easy 5 hour ride into tuggles. Going mostly interstate. Should be a blast...not.... I will probably leave around lunch so I don't get there real early.

Captain Morgan 09-20-2011 12:30 AM

Booked my reservations in Jeffersonville, OH for Wed night. I'm thinking I'll still have a long ride Thursday because I'm avoiding interstate, but I'm hoping to see some nice scenery along the way.

It said chance of t-storms up here so I was kinda figuring I may be dodging raindrops on my way down, I ma hoping its not anything crazy where it forces me ot change my departure time. I may be able ot make the entire trip with one fuel stop so I dont want to keep stopping due to the weather.

Trip 09-20-2011 11:24 AM

thursday has 40% chance down here, definitely higher chances on friday. Which will really really fucking suck on the BRP to get stuck in thunderstorms. Visibility gets bad fast up there. Saturday and sunday look awesome.
