Call the police and tell them that your loaded gun was stolen. That's about the only time I've seen police jump up and get on it. My father had is .357 stolen from his pickup while getting new tires put on. He told the owner that one of his workers stole it and he called the police. A cop showed up and when he told the cop that it was loaded, 4-5 more showed up. They couldn't search any of the workers vehicles without a warrant. The owner did give him money to buy another and my dad called his bank and had them cancel the check he wrote out for the tires. :lol :rockwoot:

Worked with an older guy that said he was at a car wash and a woman government employee (not sure of her title) had her government issued pistol stolen out of her car. I believe that's a federal crime do not pass go. He said she called in backup and they locked the place down.

I wish Florida had open carry just so I could carry a Ruger Vaquero on each hip with those kick ass old cowboy holsters with bullet loops, and a lever action rifle slung across my back.

That bill will probably die, but hey, we can hope.
Though, even if it does pass, it'll take time for law enforcement and the public in general to get used to it and you can expect a lot of annoyance in the interim.

Yes. UltraCarry

I've heard the same suggestion already. I already have a 9mm...

How does Texas not have open carry? That's crazy. We do, lolz.

How long are the sessions in TX? And how long is the budget? Ours are 1 year budgets and full time legislature with 2 year sessions.

We are bicameral... The Texas Legislature meets in regular session on the second Tuesday in January of each odd-numbered year. The Texas State Constitution limits the regular session to 140 calendar days. The Governor can extend that regular session into a special session. Representatives serve a 2-year term, Senators a 4-year term with no term limits for either.

Open carry was seen as "brandishing a weapon" and therefore made illegal. It is legal to carry in your vehicle as long as it is concealed and disclosed to law enforcement. It is also legal to carry without conceal carry permit if you are transporting cash in the name of your business.

RACER X 10-07-2011 11:07 AM

no need to disclose to LEO, CHL holder or not

you can conceal carry in your car basically if you're not a criminal, are not doing something illegal .

but study up on your own

Rangerscott 10-07-2011 11:47 AM

The law is diharrea liquid. It may say one thing but some else can thank different and you still end up in handcuffs.

Which is what we'd have to deal with if open carry were legalized again.
There would still be cops that would want to harass you for 'disturbing the peace' (ie, your openly displayed firearm is making sheeple nervous) or the like.

yep, wisconsin had plenty of examples of this. biggest problem there was the idiots pushing the limits of open carry. we had it for many years. when they realized it the boneheads came out of the closet to carry all over the place just to put it in people's faces. lots of examples of cops getting all uppity about it with people who were legally carrying. lots of examples of idiots carrying where they really shouldn't just because they suddenly realized they could.

My bad, I got it backward. In vehicle it isn't required to disclose. Though, it's recommended.

CHL it's required to show license and disclose.

Still happens here. I don't know if PA has always been open carry...but it certainly has for a long time.

Just walk down the street in downtown Philadelphia with a firearm on your hip and see how many cops show up. They will...and they do. And they point guns at you and disarm you.

Yep, it is a .40. The trigger pull is too heavy and inconsistent to me, even after changing to a single lighter trigger spring (originally I believe there were two heavier springs) and polishing all the mating surfaces.

The year is 2011 and a young man was destined to buy one of the most known, most reliable, most bad ass pistols ever made.

Very first .45, very first 1911.

Rangerscott 10-23-2011 11:13 PM

I don't know the yards/ft but there are 3 slots you can put your target in the pistol section. I've got to adjust the sights. It was shooting left some. I was mostly aiming dead center and as you can see that's not where the bullets were going.

.45 gives me a boner.

Slot 2

I'm trying to find a single barrel 12 ga trap gun. I started shooting trap and think it adds a new challenge to the shotgun world.

Here is my Browning Citori 625 Sporting Clays 12 Ga, that I use to shoot sporting clays.

Yeah, can't hurt to stock up. No telling how long that stuff will be available.

Rangerscott 11-20-2011 11:02 PM

Went to the range to do some quick shooting. I did terrible. My hands were cold from the ride over and all cramped up. My right hand was actually hurting.

This is on the farthest slot. It's 20-25ft I think. I'm gonna have to do some modding to the sights on my sigma. They're just too big and cover up the whole target. It's hard to tell if you're aiming in the same spot. The Tokarev's sights are not meant for this range I guess or maybe mine were farted with. I just could not zero in at this range.

I did get some neoprene shooting gloves and the trigger felt completely different on my sigma and I liked it. It didnt have that Fisher-Price feel to it.

I'm gonna have to take some hand warmers and thick gloves so I can warm up my hands before shooting. I can't believe I did this bad.

Corey 11-23-2011 04:48 PM

Waiting for a gun is fucking miserable. I've been able to walk out with everything I've bought except the Glock 27. Had to wait just over a month for it to arrive. I damn near cancelled that order just to pick up a gun they had in stock. No more waiting for me.

derf 11-23-2011 04:58 PM

No, its in the store, they even gave me 5o rounds to play with for free, and shot the hell out of it. I need to edit for the state police to say I'm not a felon before I can take it home

Booo to that nonsense. Does the state let you circumvent that with a concealed carry permit?

Maryland is a may issue state, but in reality they don't give them out unless you can prove that you need it, security guard, police, reported threats against your life, or carry large sums of cash. They issue less than 1k a year, and the guy in the gun store was telling me that they sometimes hold the application for years.

I can carry in most of the US, just not in the state that I live.

Its just a state mandated waiting period. I also had to buy a MD compliant lock too :(

On the plus side, it comes with 5 magazines, 2x10 and 3x16, and the guy gave me a $50 discount off the already cheapest in the area price I could find

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7025/6...6fdbc6e5_b.jpg

Rangerscott 11-23-2011 05:44 PM

We walk out with then the same day. :lol

I don't get the waiting period when they make the call right then and there. I mean, do they wait for a call back, "O hey gun store owner. I forgot to tell ya the guy you're doing the transfer for drove a bus into a school and killed 100 kids. Yea......sorry about that."

derf 11-23-2011 06:11 PM

Naw, the state police do a background check on me, which takes a week.

Its better than NJ, last time I asked about buying one up there, it was an application for a purchase permit, fingerprinting, application typically takes 60 days, then you have 30 days to buy one, and then you are subject to a 3 day (?) waiting period.

Unacceptable. I go to the gun store, pick the one I want, fill out the form, they call it in, I give them money, and I walk out with a shiny new gun. Wish I had some expendable cash. I haven't bought a firearm in far too long.

background check, they send a packet out to your 4 references and have to wait til all 4 complete said packet and mail it back and also need to take a safety course that has a waiting list a mile long.

one way around it is to put the gun on my fathers permit so i can shoot it for now and then transfer it when i get mine

Bullshit. All of it. What part of "shall not be infringed" does NY not understand?

Fuck commie pinko faggot states like that.I refuse to jump through hoops designed to discourage me from exercising my constitutional rights.

I wonder how it would go if you needed a permit to exercise your right to free speech?

You kinda already do if you want to hold a rally in a public space, in many cities.

I think he meant *How long would it take to get that permit for an assembly.*

If I didn't say it before, thanks for your help in buying this, you kept me from pulling the trigger on a lesser fire arm, and then this one just came along

Hope you enjoy it. I'm jealous it comes with 5 mags. I feel jipped when I only get 2 and raped when I have to pay $30 or more on one.

Next year I'll most likely sell my sigma and get a different 9mm. It's done fine, but after getting my 1911 and Tokarev, I love having an external hammer. I'll make sure to write down your pistol for future interest.

My father is wanting a Beretta M9 and I wouldn't mind having one either.

LOL. Nice bit of artwork in the bullets there.

Good lookin' piece! Have you been to the range with it yet?

No not yet. I went shopping this morning, bought 200 rds (100 remington, 100 winchester) and a cleaning kit, and went home and took a nap. Then I cleaned the gun of its storage/manufacturing gunk, and now its too late to go out.

Gonna try and go this week sometime

submitted my app yesterday, got the finger prints done and scheduled my safety course for the first week in february. when i asked the sheriff how long the process would take she said "4 to 6 months" so i'll keep you updated on how long it really takes

This is my first attempt to make a leather holster, overall I'm happy with this as a first attempt. I put the rough side out (mistake #1) because I read somewhere that it won't get fuzzies into the gun over time. The brown patch was added for support to keep the opening stiff. I hand stitched it by using a punch to open holes then running two lengths of wax thread through it. I didn't finish it off, mostly because I don't have any waterproofing stuff, and I will eventually brandish the edging.

Anyone have any experience with the Hornady Zombie Max bullets that came out recently? From the few youtube vids I've seen, they seem to have some nice expansion. Just wondering if anyone here has put rounds down range.
