Navy's got A6, F14, F18 and Herriers. Herriers are the jets that can take off vertically. They don't need a runway.

If you were a celebrity, you could pretty much walk on the base in Vegas, go to the Thunderbird hanger and tell them you want a ride. They would schedule you an appointemnt for one, guaranteed. Pisses me off.

A lot of this footage is from the range at Nellis AFB (Vegas). Every quarter or so, you can go out to the range and they put on a live firepower demonstration. Pretty impressive. The A10 is literally built around its 30mm, 1.2 ton, gatling gun. If you removed the gun, it wouldn't fly.

If you've ever heard a professional drag racing event from a distance, it sounds a lot like an A10 firing its 30mm gun. You know, like when they're burning out to warm up their tires. LVMS is right near the base in Vegas and you can hear the draggers burning out from like 2-3 miles away. Sounds just like an A10 firing.
