Buell: belt vs. chain conversion
 

What are your thoughts about doing this on a xb12r?

Complete and total waste of time and money.

Seriously, unless you are racing, why would you want to do this?

Why create work for yourself?

Only advantage is the ability of gearing changes. Belt is cheaper and less maintenance, and causes no damage when it fails.

for regular use, stay with the belt

the thing is that i have to drive to chattanoga to pick up a belt as its the closest one to me and that they are on back order, a chain and sproket is easier to replace and dont have to worry about running out of them in the future...

Or you can send me money to buy it and $5 to ship it to you douche. Lol

or just go online, buy 3 or 4 of them and have them for the life of the bike

Buying one would do for at least a couple years.
