rf-1000 vs x-11
Needing a new lid, cyclegear has 10% off right now which is about best I can find for the x-11.
Is the x-11 really $200 better then the rf? Fit was great, and read great reviews but thought I would ask here. thnx |
I've had both, I currently have the X11 now. The RF fit me good when it was new but when it got broke in, it was a little too big, so I figured I'd try to find a X11 for cheap in a size medium. I lucked out and found one on Ebay for $480, used but in excellent condition. I posted up on the WERA forums if anybody could get them cheap and the cheapest I found new was around $530 or so. Not too bad for a Kagayama replica.
The vents do work a bit better and at high speeds the helmet is stable as fuck, like when I come out a tuck from a straightaway to brake. Aren't they made of different materials though? |
For the record someone will be selling at least one Shark helmet in an XL which fits like an L....

unfortunately there is no one around that carries the Sharks to try on

If i remember correctly, the X-11 and RF-1000 fit different head shapes.
could be wrong though. |
Vermeulen
http://www.helmetcity.com/mm5/graphi...%20TC-1_lg.jpg or Kagayama http://www.helmetcity.com/mm5/graphi...yamatc1_lg.jpg or Tamada http://www.shoei-helmets.com/product...tamada_tc5.jpg or the white one http://www.shoei-helmets.com/product...tamada_tc6.jpg I like all of them honestly. My wife prefers the Vermeulen, but they don't have it or the Tamada in stock so I can't see it side by side. |
Tamada.

X-11 and RF1000s are two different head shapes, if you fit one you shouldn't wear the other if you are looking for max protection, if you want to find a helmet that fits your head correctly, you need to take a trip with me to meet the god of helmet fitting.
