Best Cleaning for Visors
 

Besides going out and buying specific solution to clean dirty and buggy visors, is there any common household cleaning product that you trust to clean visors effectively???

I use rubbing alcohol for visors and my glasses.

I just use alcohol ads and gauze from work, but have a bottle of soay water and microfiber towels in the tail bag.

I found alcohol to be good for cleaning, (my colon) but not so good at keeping shit from sticking to the visor. It dries too clean.

I use Plexus. Good shit.

I think it was 98% silicone, and 2% whale tears.

Plexus is great for the finish, but to get the bugs and crap off easy, do this....

Get a washcloth, soak it in the hottest water you can get out of the faucet, wring it out mostly, and place on the helmet for 10-15 minutes.

The junk literally melts away.

I do this with paper towels

Meanwhile I have Plexus and the old Honda polish on my shelf.
Unfortunately I have a bad habit of knocking them over and sending the nozzle off to oblivion.

:idk: I just use water, and I don't let them petrify onto the helmet or visor.

I use for my glasses, never thought about that for the visors though...

I said I wasn't going to let this happen to my new helmet, but it kind of already did. :idk: It's a combination of 'I'm fucking tired and I don't give a shit.' along with 'where's my beer?' and maybe just a touch of 'Damn it, I still have homework to do.'

I've always done this on road trips to the tall clear windshield. Works great.

But you can also use Novus You can also get their polish to get out scratches.

For other plastics I use Bug Slide... it works real well.

This is pretty much my method. Lately I've been contemplating Rain-X or something to keep the water from collecting on the visor, especially on foggy mornings.

Rain X can F up the plastics... I've tried.
