I don't really understand what or why it happened. :wtf:

Apoc 08-18-2009 12:01 PM

paint truck spilled..

CrazyKell 08-18-2009 12:08 PM

Surely to god that'd all be covered though right?

Apoc 08-18-2009 12:10 PM

Avatard 08-18-2009 01:44 PM

At least the Suzuki on the far right wasn't effected.

You would think. Turns out, that was a black and blue model up until the pics were taken.

I was wondering the same thing. Sure looks like a staging to me.

I don't understand why they would let the paint sit and dry. I'd be headed to the nearest self serve car wash pronto.

If you ever do, get pics. Trace has already demonstrated how the car wash works while you're sitting on a 'busa... :lmao:

Line paint is a two part epoxy that sets in under 15 seconds and dries within minutes. All the gear is ruined and short of sand blasting, that paint is NOT coming off. :td:

I helped design & build a mixing head for a line painting company ( Guide Mark ) here in PA.

I figured it dried quickly, but not that quickly. I would have thought it was more like 15 minutes. That is pretty amazing stuff when the conditions it has to live in are factored in.

Is that a guess, or do you have info on it from somewhere?

i would guess that somebody tossed the paint bucket off the roof as a prank or something. Weird that the pictures seem to have been taken at night, then there are other pictures in the daylight of a guy still wearing jeans and a shirt still covered in paint.

z06boy 08-25-2009 09:18 AM

I don't know...this is pretty disheartening too.

:whatwhat: :wtfru:

Holt shit, that poor bike.

Tmall 08-25-2009 09:27 AM

If you go to the chive, it says they were following a paint truck too closely.

You should get with the DOT in Michigan because the paint here is shit. It wears off the street in a mater of weeks. I've called the county road commissioner and complained but they didn't want to hear it saying the better quality paint would more than double their road painting budget.

Still doesn't look like it to me, considering the way that the paint appears to have splashed the bikes parked right up against the building. Also doesn't look like the bucket was moving in any direction other than down when it fell- it didn't tumble the way it would have if it fell off a moving truck.

I think the guys were standing around shooting the shit at a bike night and somebody tried to brain one of them with a paint bucket :idk:

Tmall 08-31-2009 03:16 PM

We're looking at the same pictures. If you can deduct that, you should be doing some csi stuff..
