Shorty levers...who's got em?
Which ones ya got and how do you like them?
I've got the Pazzo's on mine(black on black), had them for about a year and a half or more, and i freaking love them, they look bad ass, they function great, and feel very well made, if i ride a bike without them now, the stock levers just feel flimsy or "cheap" thats the only way i know to describe them havent really put a lot of extras on this bike, but thats my best investment so far |
I've got OEM shorties.
Ground down by various race tracks. Evened out and powdercoated by Leon. |
Just put shorty Pazzo's on this year. Absolutely love the look and feel of them.
|
I also have Pazzo "shorties". One of the best mods i've done to the R1.
|
I've got CRG's. I like them because I only use one or two fingers on both sides.
|
I've got pazzo's... love them... to be honest... they could actually be shorter but much better than the stock ones
|
I've got Pazzo shorties, they look great. But I don't like the feel of them. They made me already stiff clutch even harder to pull and they feel "square" compared to the stock Buell levers.
|
I love the Pazzo shorties. People say all the time that CRG's are higher quality, but I don't see it. They're just more money IMO.
|
had pazzos on my RR. they rocked. have OEM on the GS and don't care to change em out.

As for me on the SV, I still have the stock levers but that will probably change this winter |
I have pazzo shorties on the buell. Love em
|
I cut the stock levers down on my SV and made my own shorties. I loved it. I can't justify the cost of those levers.
My cut down levers didn't have the ball on the end, so I'm kind of curious if the ball will bang into your ring finger on the clutch side. |

I have stock levers, and see no need to change them.
Besides I am saving up for my 36" stretched swingarm and 330 kit.:skep: |
I wanted the ASV levers....but went with the Pazzo's because they're a Canadian company and a bunch of us got a great deal on a group buy. I have not been disappointed.
|
crg shorties on bofe bikes
|
CNR shorties - similar to CRG/Pazzo's except my adj lever is the same color as the lever.
LOVE them over stock! |
OEM shorties, cut, smoothed out and powdercoated by Leon
|
I evened out a broken lever and cut another... then had them both powdercoated for the Buell. Probably a mod I'd want to do with the TLR, but I want to wait to see what the cable pull feels like when I dump the hydro clutch. Pazzos and the like look real good, but I just don't see it as a justifiable mod when there's so much other shit that could be done...
|
On the way home from work, I took a look at my levers and they are black from the OEM. I never realized that, maybe thats why I don't mind them.
|
I only use two fingers, but have never had a problem with my stock full length levers. (Well, except for the very very rare occasion that I need to pull the clutch to the bars to start in gear) I like the understated stock look. All of my changes will be below the surface.
|
Love shorties and have ridden a few bikes with them, I just can't justify the cost

Apparently I'm the only one who doesn't like the feel of the Paz.
|
Prob with cutting the atoakers is you can no longer hit the track. Without the ball end you won't pass tech

Jeez, first you want shorties and now you're obsessed with a ball that you shouldn't ever have contact with if you ride in such a way to need short levers...:idk::lol: |
Okay, buy a cheap set of stockers and cut the ball off and cut them short and then JB weld or pre-drill and screw the ball back on...
|
I need rearsets before i get shorty's. I only 2 finger the brake and clutch, though, and the feel of my stock levers is terrible, but its something i've gotten used to so its not a big issue. I'm so tired of my foot position w/ the stock pegs though, that needs to change asap, i'm tired of ridding around w/ my toes on the bar.

Not to mention they're butt-ugly. You guys complain about $100 levers, yet you spend upwards of $800 on exhaust? |

I spent over 800 just for a muffler...
I still wouldn't buy pazzos or the like at anything over half price.. |

I have a set of MEKs. Courtesy of the slow boat from China (germany by proxy) Nothing like waiting 3 months for levers.

Actually I eat whopper jr's often...... The regular whopper probably has enough saturated fat for a whole week, so no thank you. |
ive seen that dumbass ad like fifteen times this week, was all i could think about when i read your post

But the pegs are bigger than even the ball end of the levers, the feeler is smaller though. And the corner where it meets the windscreen would only be a factor if they seperated from one another. |
So I'm watching a track video of a guy with cut-off stock levers.... Hey!!! you turds may be wrong about needing that ball to pass tech!

Just looks broken. I don't get how less leverage on your brakes is better. :skep: I have to rebuild my front brake master cylinder today...and how I found out was when I squeezed my lever (in towards the bike with 2 fingers) my bike did not stop. I had to shift my fingers to the end of the lever to get my brakes to work. Not really sure what would have happened if I did not have more lever there. :tremble: |

Shorty levers aren't for everyone... some people have more strength in their grip... (cue jokes about being single ) another reason for me... was my clutch lever would make contact with my grip when it was pulled fully. since I only used two fingers this crushed my others... I've tried just pulling until the motor revs freely... but as much light to light traffic I have in my commute... it's much harder to hold a lever at 60% than at 100%... so I went with the Shorties... but really... even those are a bit long in that example... still wanting to crush my ring finger... so I tend to use a full grip (my ring and pinky are attached by a bridge on my glove) |

Either that or he crashed and broke it and is too lazy to buy a used one for $20-30 off Ebay. |
Poking around, doing research I found this:
Moto World Online has ASVs for $205 (both levers). http://www.motoworldonline.com/ASV-C...41_p_2422.html |
All this talk about levers and not one of you posted a bike of your bike with the shorties. Can I get a :whatwhat: Where's the clutch lever porn???

Rear brake on my bike don't really do anything...except turn on my brake light which I learned today that my front brake does not do...again. :td:

As for the old mirror holes, block off plates from ASB. |
I tried the eBay cheapies. I couldn't get them to fit, then my helper broke one...
|
cutting stock levers are just gonna look bad, and will still feel flimsy/cheap....but if ya dont want shorter levers, i know pazzo makes stock length ones too,

I also showed him how to take off his front tire. He attempted it and stripped 3 screws out of 4 on his fender. We've agreed that it's just cheaper for him to get raped by the shop money wise, than to pay to fix the damage he causes. |

Rob? If so, it somehow doesnt suprise me.. |
I may have to give those a try Marko. :D

I have shorty pazzo levers but I am a small handed girl so they work like full levers for me!
I have been VERY VERY happy with them... |
finally getting on the computer on here.
couple pics of the pazzo's. they almost match the frame... http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...R/DSC01757.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...R/DSC01759.jpg |
Your bike is filthy.
|
Was... those pics are from like a month after I bought it, a yeah and a half ago!
It's clean now... and stored for the year... but yeah... that's actually relatively clean... I ride more than I wash, and being as I ride gravel every day to work, and live in BFE... yeah, it gets dirty. |
Quote:
hasn't seen a wash in almost 8000 miles... and will only see one right before I sell it. it gets rained on about 3-4 times a week so that's enough hydration  it'll be interesting to see what the 800GS will look like half the time |

don't get me wrong... I love a clean bike... but for me... it's not worth it... it rains daily here... I'd have to wash it daily. not gonna happen... I'd wash it weekly at most... but the 800GS... probably only gonna be washed when back from a muddy off road trip. |
