600+ lbs eh

I knew plenty VFRs throughout my years...from a VFR500's to VFR800's
That sir is no VFR.

Dave 10-08-2009 09:46 AM

its an embarassment to see that parked next to an rc30. connie 14 is gonna destroy it in any competition

I agree. I'm pretty disapointed as well.

RedRider2k2 10-08-2009 11:54 AM

Me thinks Honda has let me down again.

I think Bike manufacturers are working together with aftermarket exhaust manufacturers.

They keep turning out the hideous stock pipes and people buy up new ones to replace them.

Weren't there a couple people in here claiming it would be 200 hp? :lol

CasterTroy 10-08-2009 01:18 PM

Looks just like a K1300S :idk:

pdog 10-08-2009 01:26 PM

Yeah, it looks just like a BMW. Faster and Faster says 172hp (at the crank, I assume?):

The "layered" fairing right in front of your knee does vaguely resemble a 999. Other than that, the looks are complete crap.

Holy fucking 600lbs of ugly right there. :td:

Homeslice 10-08-2009 04:03 PM

What's up with how the tank is higher than the tail? Ghey.

About the only thing on that bike that looks good is the rear wheel.

i agree w/ that.

WARputer 10-08-2009 04:11 PM

Lose the 100 lb exhaust can & it would look alot better.

pdog 10-08-2009 04:51 PM

It's a normal bike. Only sport bikes have their tail higher than the tank.

pauldun170 10-08-2009 04:58 PM

Is there any benefit in using the single side swingarm in this application?

RACER X 10-08-2009 05:01 PM

can't see if there's a center stand, but a SSS was nice esp w/ a centerstand. no need for stands and could take the wheel off easily.

so if your touring out in BFE and got a flat or whatever........not that is if there's a center stand.

and it looks ok, but the wheel is TITS!

BMW similar setup, shaft + SSS

Rangerscott 10-08-2009 08:22 PM

I love my single sided arm.

was92v 10-08-2009 10:23 PM

Fugly

zer0t 10-13-2009 06:27 AM

I think it looks pretty cool and I thought I read somewhere this thing is 200 hp? Can that be right? The important thing is it adds competition to the hypersport category.

Nope. They say "Honda's GP bike make 200HP in 800cc" how that is relevant is beyond me. This thing will be detuned like all the big ST bikes.

Dave 10-13-2009 03:23 PM

so wheres the new magna?

Scot 10-18-2009 10:20 AM

wait...did someone say VFR500? There was a VF500.

Doesn't Honda kind of use the VFR for almost experimental like stuff. SSSwingarm, V-tech, 1 lever ABS, EFI, etc? It'd be cooler to see the SS on the CBR1000.

I guess they decided to make it appeal to the old men sport-tourers. Which is why it would look kind of like a BMW.

Scot 10-18-2009 10:59 AM

Honda does what it wants to do. To me, Honda does not have it's finger on the pulse of the motorcycle rider. They make what they make, and hope the marketing dept can sell them. They've had some great bikes in the past, and have had some of the biggest head scratchers too (Fury and DN-01 come to mind as of late)

Vtec on the previous VFR was for emissions. I think it sucked personally. They took away one of the coolest sounds in motorcycling (gear driven camshafts) and replaced with what sounds like a bad lifter. I don't think people are going to line up to buy the new VFR just as they don't line up to buy the ST1300.

Future prediction:

THe 2010 VFR1200 will still be available in a crate, new, in 2013. Just like the Valkyrie was, just like the superhawk was, just like the VTX1800, and just like the Fury is going to be.

True.... honda just relies on the strength of their badge. Same goes with their cars.

What's with all the big angular cans on so many of the newer bikes? :td:
That's a great looking bike otherwise.

Homeslice 11-04-2009 01:37 PM

Checking back.....

Yep, still looks like shit.

The current VFR is way better looking.

EpyonXero 11-05-2009 11:38 AM

I like it but it looks better with a rider on it.

That's because the rider blocks the view of that horrendous fuel tank.
