New Jacket

Erik and I went to Iron Pony today to get a tail bag and lock for our trip over Memorial Day weekend.

They didn't have a black tail bag like wanted so I have to wait on it. Did not get a lock as I need more details on that - going to post another thread on ideas/recommendations.

But I did come home with a new jacket. It isn't leather but I think I'm OK with that. It fit perfectly but didn't have a price tag on it. I figured it would be too much but found a sales person to help, $39.99. I wasn't sure so I carried it around thinking about it. I decided to do a search (on my phone) to see what they were going for elsewhere. To my surprise they retail for $199.99 and sell for $179.99!!!! It was a no brainer. I think I got a hell of a deal :D

Erik came home with a tail bag and a new jacket as well. He didn't quite the deal I got, but I did get them to match price on his jacket which took $18 off the sticker.

A couple of pictures of my jacket.

Nice!

CrazyKell 04-25-2010 09:15 PM

Nice. I recently got a good deal at Iron Pony on a jacket.

racedoll 04-25-2010 09:19 PM

Thanks everyone. I like that I can actually go to a store to try things on. I just wish they had more in my size and preferred brands, especially boots/shoes.

ericr 04-25-2010 10:54 PM

That was a hell of a deal too! Good find :dthumb:

Tsunami 04-25-2010 11:39 PM

Looks great! I prefer textile myself, its just more comfortable. Where are you guys riding to?

racedoll 04-26-2010 05:36 PM

We are heading south to WV and Kentucky, then back home. It is with a small group, one of the guys I work with and some of his friends.

CrazyKell 04-26-2010 05:47 PM

Sounds like a fun trip. I've always wanted to ride to Kentucky.

fnfalman 04-26-2010 05:55 PM

Better than a T-shirt, that's for sure and the price can't be beat.

Congrats on the new jacket. Man I miss Iron Pony, that place was awesome.

Might have to stop by there when I head up to pick up my new car in June.

POS? Luv the little gun. Part of my New York reload.

Nice and reflective. You will look like the headless rider to those following you at night. My friend's jacket does that

Sorry. I have heard not so good things about it from multiple people.

 I don't ride much at night but I'd rather be a headless rider than to not be seen at all.

Nice find Ranger. The one I got is textile and has a snap out/in liner and the liner has full sleeves too so I hopefully won't freeze when it is colder.

I'm hoping to try it out Thursday or Friday morning!

 I've rarely posted pics of her elsewhere and probably never here and even myself for that matter...just always hated other people's wisecracks on the net when other members have posted pics of themselves and/or better halves. Supposedly NewEnough will be shipping it out today...she got white since they didn't have Yamaha blue in this jacket.

Looks very nice!

racedoll 04-30-2010 02:53 PM

I got to try out my jacket this morning. Very nice in the cooler temps. The only complaint, which was expected is that it is short in the back. But it's not bad, it covers just not as much as I'm used to with my other jacket (men's).

That's alright, you have too nice of a "package" to cover it up. :lol

Thanks. I would like to keep it nice then :)

As hubby said I would find something wrong with it - it doesn't have armor in it. Why I didn't check this before I bought it I have no idea. Oh well.

Does it have a pocket for armor? I have a new alpinestars back protector pad insert thing you can have.

I'll have to check. It has a very THIN padding in the back but nothing in the elbow or shoulders like my leather.
