Running electrical accessories.

I've never used any kind of electrical accessory. For those of you who ride with heated clothing and use the bike to recharge GPS units, digital cameras, laptops, etc... what sort of set-up are you using? If you're running more than one accessory at the same time, I'd like to see how you plug everything in.

I have my GPS and Sat Radio wired up on the Busa.

I bought an accessory fuse box from Blue Sea, powered that off switched 12v power through a relay, and wired everything to the fuse box.

There are some nice aftermarket fuse boxes out these days. Some even have the relay built in.

Eastern Beaver Fusebox

Fuzeblock

I didn't photograph my installation unfortunately. I need to wire up the KLR and BMW soon though, so I'll be sure to do a how-to this time.

KLR: http://www.twowheelfix.com/showthrea...ght=klr&page=6
CBR: http://www.twowheelfix.com/showthrea...ght=electrical

Thats how I did it on the CBR and the KLR. I've put about 12k on the CBR, and 5k on the KLR since each installation without any major problems (blew a fuse once).

Leon wired a cigarette lighter charger thingy into my trunk on my GSXR.

I've used the crap out of it, charged my cell, my Ipod, etc.

Works awesome.

If for nothing else, having a good battery after a long days ride its worth it.

Some people swear by the BMW style plugs, other really like the parrallel 2 prong plugs, for me the cig lighter outlet is just too universal to replace with a different style, even if the other ones are better.

The key with the cig style plugs is making sure it has a good weather cover otherwise the insides will get all corroded and stuff. I have a cig plug for a snowmobile just inside the fairing that works really well.

Yeh I buy the good ones, with a tight sealing rubber cover.

I got a dual usb plug that I use to run the ipod and the phone at the same time, I picked it up from walmart for $15

I actually have 6 or 7 of the dual plugs floating around between cars, my travel bag and the bikes. I have a few of the single style somewhere too. I don't know how the world operated without them. It's made by griffen

The each of the two semi circles light up when its respective side is in use. It's a little longer than yours, it doesn't sit flush with the edge of the outlet, but I think that has more to do with being able to fit the two plugs next to each other than anything else.
