Not sure if you have posted it recently or not, but how are you feeling physically and how's the leg progressing? I can assume by this thread that things are going pretty darn good!

Particle Man 04-18-2011 09:29 PM

that's HAWT

Meh...

My leg still hurts. All of it. Toe, heel, shin, knee, thigh and hip.

If I sat around and waited for it to feel like it should, I'd never accomplish anything. I just kinda deal with it. I'm way too young to be in chronic pain, but bitching about it gets me nowhere.

I've apparently been very whiny about not having a motorcycle for a while now and my husband got sick of it. So he told me to look. So I did. I didn't want anything that existed.

After spending way too much time on eBay he finally just told me to tell him what I wanted. Not a model or a brand, but what I wanted in a bike. I said, 600, 4 cyl., fuel injected, not expensive(to purchase or maintain) and not something everyone else has. He told me to look up an FZ6. I told him those were ugly. He asked me to humor him. The earlier ones are fugly IMHO, but I saw an 09 and that was it. I knew that was the bike I wanted. For poops and giggles I looked it up on the local CL and there she was. The dude lives 3.6 miles from me and had it tuned by a friend of mine with a dyno shop. I called my friend, it checked out. So, here she is. I feel whole again. :D

tached1000rr 04-18-2011 10:01 PM

good deal, enjoy the ride

Cutty72 04-18-2011 10:13 PM

Awesome when stuff works out like that.

Hey wait, I had an early FZ6.

Okay, that one is way hotter. Nice ride!

Fleck750 04-19-2011 01:54 AM

Congratulations. :)

Adeptus_Minor 04-19-2011 01:55 AM

Nice one, Heather. :dthumb:

Looks like something that evades radar.

Stealthy.

If you get a black helmet and suit, I promise you that an international double agent should show up for your chase scene driving an Aston Martin in relatively short order.

Ninjakel 04-19-2011 11:05 AM

Congrats Heather!!

the chi 04-19-2011 11:19 AM

Gorgeous, congrats!

goof2 04-19-2011 01:29 PM

Nice. It can't be easy for you to get back on a bike but its good you are doing it.

KSGregman 04-19-2011 04:11 PM

That bike is wicked HOT....love it.

Grats!! :dthumb:

(And good on you for getting back in the saddle again! That kicks ass.)

You know those two bikes are comletely different right? The only common link is the detuned R6 engine in both, and even the extent to which the engine is detuned is different. Even the frame material and style is different. The "old fugly" fz6 are faster, but a bit clunkier than your fz6r.

Your shopping list sounds exactly like mine though. :rockwoot: The fz6r was in the top 4 or 5 on my list. I decided to go with its suzuki class rival in the GSXF. I decided I wanted more touring capability, and the fz6r is just a tad small for my frame. Im not a small guy.... Waiting for the dealer to call me back right now for the suzi.

'grats on the new bike though!!! :dthumb:

Gorgeous Heather. Glad you are feeling well enough to get back on again.

A black helmet and black leather suit would probably cause a different effect...

The only effect I can think of is increasing the likelihood of getting hit by an Aston Martin...or a minivan.

wildchild 04-21-2011 08:49 PM

very nice looking bike. love the black.

ericr 04-21-2011 10:58 PM

Glad to see you getting back in the saddle Heather! Congrats on the bike and good choice :dthumb:

HurricaneHeather 04-21-2011 11:47 PM

Thanks guys. :D

I'm a big fan of this bike so far. I'm smitten with owning a bike again. I took it to bike night last night and I had straight up forgotten how fun riding on the street really is.

I'm not naive enough to think I can't get hurt again, but I think we all know that we are taking a calculated risk whenever we throw a leg over. It's a dangerous lifestyle but I can't hide from it.

Congrats on getting the bike Heather ( I read the other thread again and hard to believe is been over two years )

Have fun and enjoy

Jeff
