I just did my update.

Do I want any of my VOX on? What's the hands-free vs intercom?

Voice activated, I leave that off.

Gas Man 12-27-2011 08:21 PM

I know what VOX is, but do I want any of it on for intercom or hands free? What is the hands free? Is intercom just for passenger? How is that different than rider to rider?

I must be retarted, I can not get my SENA to link to my computer. You connect the charge/usb cable to your computer and it should link, right?:idk:

Amber Lamps 12-27-2011 09:03 PM

Nevermind....my unit doesn't have the micro-usb port....

You have to do it with their software and drivers.

I replaced mine when they offered replacement to the new version.

Tig still has the old version.

July or August... It was like a $50 upgrade and you had to send your old ones first.

Turbo Ghost 12-28-2011 08:37 AM

I've got the old version too and it connects just fine to the computer. I haven't done this latest upgrade yet though. I have found though that for some reason only one of my front USB ports will work properly for this. I have the same issue with my Garmin. If I use any of the other ports, it just charges and doesn't recognize it as a drive or otherwise. Just to clarify, my units have the round pin connector that goes in the unit and a regular USB on the other end to hook to the charger or the computer.

Exactly, it's only a charger...

I was able to do the last update with it. When I get home from work, I'll see if I can do the latest update.

It only has charging wires for that connection. The computer program may screw up and say it updated, but it is completely impossible for it to update. There is no data wires on that charging port, just power.

Turbo Ghost 12-29-2011 01:43 PM

Interesting. I had wondered about it. The last time I checked for updates, it said I had the latest firmware update. Wait a minute! I know I've been able to adjust the settings before by connecting to the computer!? Like I said, I'll see what happens when I get home.

Well, I'm curious considering that I just got off the phone with them and they confirmed that the old unit is just a charging port.... They have offered to send me a new one for $100 and I keep the old one so....:idk: To be honest, I know exactly NO ONE that has this set-up anywhere outside of this forum so... I do have four Sena headsets now, so I guess it would give me a reasonably cheap way to talk to whatever whore I have on the back of my bike this summer... If any... I mainly use it for music and a link to my radar detector.

Turbo Ghost 12-29-2011 03:37 PM

Well, my Sena just lied to me! I connected it and when I clicked on the firmware update button, it said I had the latest version. Then I adjusted my settings and it accepted the settings as if it had worked. Bummer! I wish I had the money to get a new one but, it will be a while before I can. I wonder if with a USB bluetooth dongle you could upgrade the firmware?

The old ones don't have the capability. You need the new board.

Turbo Ghost 12-29-2011 04:29 PM
