Aerostitch
So, I followed Grex and Derf and a few others and got a Roadcrafter. I love it. though not going to win any fashion shows but hell I haven't been cool for 31 years... why try now?
anyways... I also picked up a couple other things... Combat Touring Lite boots... crazy stiff at first... but once broken in... I can wear them all day... actually have. I spent 6hrs walking around New Orleans in them... actually had forgotten I had them on. http://www.aerostich.com/aerostich-c...ite-boots.html http://www.aerostich.com/media/catal...4/0/404_5c.jpg the other was Insulated Elkskin Ropers... they're leather gloves SOFT leather gloves, with marino wool inside. I ordered a 9.5 as they said to order .5 size bigger than what their sizing chart said... got them in about a week... Not so much... couldn't get my fingers in... so I ordered 10.5's... PERFECT. They're the only motorcycle gloves I've ever worn and not had my fingers get cold at 60mph in sub 50* weather. in actuality it was mid 30's and I had no heated grips and my hands were quite comfortable. http://www.aerostich.com/off-and-rid...et-gloves.html http://www.aerostich.com/media/catal...4/6/469_3a.jpg anyways... just wondering if anyone else had tried the products from Aerostitch... for me it's 3 for 3... they maybe simple... but THEY WORK. |
Werd. I sent my suit out to areostich today for their new zipper.
Stich stuff is simple but effective |

oh and they stand by their stuff... the knee seams went out in the suit so I had to send it back. They originally told me it'd be about $50 a knee for the work... then they looked at the suit, and decided that the seams shouldn't fail so they warrantee'd it. it's a 2nd hand suit, originally purchased 6 years ago.. and they warrantee'd it. |
so I got a notification that my suit was being shipped back. WTF I haven't paid for shipping...
so I called. turns out they replaced ALL the ballistics (the elbows, shoulders, and knees) fixed the seams on some pockets... total $350... and charged my card. WTF?! I didn't authorize that shit... and didn't have $350 spare cash sitting around... so they checked into it and the guy talked to his boss to authorize the refund. he called me back in 10min... turns out... the entire thing was warranted and I wasn't charged for ANYTHING. |
NO SHIT! That's awesome!!!
Put that on FB and I'll reshare it to TWM. That kind of great customer srevice needs to be recognized. |
After some postal debocle, I was finally able to get my suit to them $200 to add various snaps, replace every zipper, fix the knee and the ass, and all the velcro, I get it back next week.
|
Nice!
|
Yep, they are doing the velcro and snaps for free. The snaps are on the legs and to replace the neck velcro which sucks
|
The neck velcro gets on my nerves. I may have to think 'bout the snaps. That's a good idea!
|
They are putting one on the flap and 4 on the collar so I can adjust it to be comfortable. There is still going to be some velcro lefty on so I can always use that. Ill let you know how the snaps work once I get it back

Awesome brand rep!!!

Looking cool isn't anywhere near as good, as being mistaken for a cop by idiot drivers. Gotta love the Hi Viz.

My mesh gear looks enough like the stuff that the BMW guys have on test. Then there's the fact that we have a huge immigrant population here, who have been train by experience to recognize Hi Viz as being used by police, in their countries of origin. |
What's funny is down here, they have mostly BMW's with a few Harley's... and the BMW riders HATE them. They miss the Harley. When I ask why they say it's better, when pressed further, they pretty much end up saying... it's cooler looking.
Sweet... Cop Squids. |
I didn't get a chance to talk to any of the officers, who were testing the BMWs and new gear. The pilot programme is now over, but I haven't seen any news releases on the results either.
Here's a video of the unveiling, of the new "BMX" :skep: motorcycles and the new gear. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3_Vh_TAB9s |

They were most proud of the hockey puck shaped knob on the top of the rear bag that made it possible to open the case while wearing gloves. Seriously. THAT is what they were most proud of. After riding the BMW motor unit (RTP) for three years there was nothing I liked about the Harley Davidson unit. It was really hot, as in literally HOT burning temperature. The controls were difficult to get to light them all up siren/lights/etc. AND, they had no LEDs. The BMWs have every control within thumb distance that can be completely lit up with very little work. I won't even get into the motor and handling... |
