Japanese Ducati
|
:lol
|
Saw this over on the Ducati forum, they were getting a kick out of it.
I have never actually heard their dry clutch in person, but I found a high quality sound clip of it online just today. I think they sound cool. :) |
They do sound cool... have always loved the ducati clutch rattle...
|
lol..
Never understood the appeal of that noise.. IMO the only reason people claim they like that noise because it's something that makes Ducatis unique from other bikes........and allows them to justify their aloof attitude. If you took a newbie who had never ridden before, and played a clip of that noise, he wouldn't go "That's a cool noise, I want to buy a bike that makes that noise".........He'd go "WTF is wrong that that bike" Aprilia > Ducati |
That is kinda true... but being different is one of the things that make lots of bikers...

The noise is just kind annoying for me now. It was different and cool when I first started riding, then the sound just got annoying, but Ducati isn't something mystical and not seen for me. They are just as abundant as Honda and Suzuki at the gap.

Nope the ducal dry clutch sounds like shit, makes me think that there are a bunch of little horney garden gnomes with steel condoms on trying to fuck their way aground your engine. Its cool their first time you hear it, but after 5 minutes it gets annoying

Some of the 2012 models have a wet clutch now.

My local KTM dealer is the biggest prick in the world. Went there to possibly buy a super duke, and he spent too much time micromanaging my experience that I told him to fuck off and left. |
yes they are rare, though there is an RSVR at my office, older fella, duc owner, euro, former racer
yeah, they blow them out after a few yrs. great vid. |

When Suzuki came out with their GSXR's in 85 or 86, they had a "750 Limited Edition" with a dry clutch: http://images.search.yahoo.com/image...mb=tU0PKU1pTRk. This is how it sounds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVKZwxAJUng
