Ride
Do you ride more now or less then when you first joined the forum?
what happened for the change? |
Been riding a ton more lately. But I been without bike for a few months.
|
More, I ride to work nearly every day I can.
|
Much less.
I switched over to dirt. Turns out Nova Scotia is full of rocks and is anti ATV. Fun riding spots arre about an hour away. |
Less...
Enjoying time with my kids.. |
I ride less now to get to work, in fact I almost never ride to work any more since I live 2 miles. But I have been out on more longer day trips lately so it sort of evens out
|
Less because I just don't know anyone who rides anymore :/
|
Thats hard to justify and answer. Technically when I joined I dont think I had a bike at that point. I have rode more this spring than ever, but seeing as I just sold my bike, I am now not riding. So technically you could say I'm riding about the same. None.
I chose Tater's wife.... |
Over the past year, I've ridden a lot less, but that's because I've been working two jobs and going to school. I can't ride the bike to work much because there are many days where I either have to pick my daughter up from school, or drop her off. Since the school is between home and work, I don't bother with it. There's also the issue that work is only about 3 miles away, making it pointless to suit up and ride in. I'll start racking up miles again once I decide to quit the second job.
|
I ride More than when I first joined. And I'm doing my first trackday Friday...So I've def gotten more involved with things involving my Motorcycle since when I first joined.
I ride to work as much as I can...Gas prices also help fuel that motivation...But I also enjoy being on the bike more than in my truck. |
About the same. But since my riding buddy moved, I don't do any long rides. All my rides are by myself and usually around 30 miles or so. Depending on the weather, I try and get a ride in every day.
Met a guy on a Ducati 848 EVO on Thursday. He was a combat medic in Afghanistan, and is studying to be a physician's assistant. Saved all his money and paid cash for the bike. He's read Total Control and both Twist of the Wrist books. We compared Afghanistan and Vietnam, and rode together down Lookout Mountain. He said he rides before classes and maybe we'll meet again. At my age, it would be nice to ride with a medic. |
I joined the forum before I had the bike and have been commuting since I got it. I can't afford long trips yet. I'm hoping that will change once I take my ICND2 test this Friday.. must get job.. must do stuff besides whine about wanting to do stuff..
|
Technically I ride more per annual miles. However, I ride less days...
After getting my Ultra and doing cross state weekend trips... I don't enjoy riding around town as much. I just turn a few miles between my road trips... they mean nothing to me compared to the road trips. |
Less currently. Living on my parents farm with a ton of gravel road construction on the way to work will not make commuting fun. Plus dealing with the house sale and looking for a new one have taken up a lot of my free time.
Oh, and the fact that my bike was in two pieces for a couple weeks  |
Those of you taking longer trips, what rain gear do you have?
|
The same... but that's not really a good thing.
I think I've put more miles on my bicycle than I have on my motorcycle in the last year. |
After I look at things, I technically ride more now than when I joined this forum since I didn't have a bike at that time. However, since this was a spinoff of that which shall not be named and has all the cool kids from that site, I was considering my riding time compared to when I joined up back there.
|
Less, because the roads up here don't compare to SoCal.......All broken up.
|
Less street (currently 0 miles for the year).
More track (at least one weekend a month). |

About the same, maybe slightly more I guess. Been through a few bikes since then and my personal amount of miles has stayed about the same. Since I got the 12, I've been putting on a lot more 2up miles on longer trips.
|
Much less. Most of my everyday riding buddies have moved or sold their bikes, my speeding ticket made me realize how my normal sport rides could become very expensive. Nashville has had an INSANE number of motor cycle deaths so far this year, 2 in the past 5 hours. Also having a boyfriend that doesn't ride has kept off the bike most weekends. I'm hoping to get to the track some this year and hopefully get a sport tourer by the end of the year.

Yup and 2 more today. (why is everyone repeating themselves) One was right near my house. I rode down and they interviewed me for the news. I was so shaken up looking at the tarp covered body in the road that I stuttered through the entire interview.

Why in the hell would you ride to the crash scene? That's pretty fuckin morbid.
|
Because I didnt know it was a fatality (news was just saying bike crash on my road).and I had 100+ people on my local motorcycle Facebook page begging for info to see if it was someone they knew. It was right down my road. I didnt want to wait till the 10 news for a report. Thanks though, guess I just fucking love seeing death.

There is nothing more aggravating than looky lous at accident scenes. Someone got hurt or killed, it's not something to gawk at. |
I was no where near the accident scene. I was across the street in a gas station parking lot. If an accident happens in fron of your house and it my be your friend or neighbor, you wouldn't step outside to see who or what happened? And at the time I heard about I didn't even know police where on the scene. I just heard from a friend, motorcycle down near me. Don't make it out like I love seeing death Trip. It was hard enough yesterday. I don't need to be told how discusting I am today.
|
ah we had 3 deaths (all cruisers) and 2x as many crashes (sportbikes) that i know off, last wk alone.
just another wk of riding as far as i'm concerned. |

Is there anything you won't chime in on just to one up? This has to be one of the dumber ones I've read, even for you. |
