SeaFoam for winter storage, ruff running, and so much more
SeaFoam
A garage must have if you ask me. This stuff is just amazing. I would call "snake oil" if I haven't used it myself and know many others who have done the same. How To Vid http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...90865726229173 I know this winter I will be storing my bike with this in it instead of stabil. |
Last spring, my sons dirt bike was very hard to start and it was idling super rough or wouldn't idle at all. A splash of seafoam in the tank and 5 minutes later the bike ran like a champ again. :dthumb:
|
what is this winterizing thing you are talking about
|
I use stabil as preventative maintenance, and seafoam as a reactive maintenance if needed.
Stabil has always worked if used properly, but seafoam is definatly good shit! |
Same here.
|
I run some seafoam in my gas every once in a while... the ethanol (10%) in our gas around here encourages valve buildup and I want those fuckers shiny and clean.
|
Truth there!! Think I might run some soon in my bikes...

I've used it every time I've brought my bike out of storage (which seems like way too much damn it!) run a can through with the fuel... usually half at a time... never had an issue with my fuel or carbs that it hasn't fixed. |
 whatchoo talkin bout?!? You actually put your bike away for the winter?

That way you have fresh, pure oil on all your machined surfaces instead of used, contaminated oil. Jeff |

I finished off the second half of the can in the next tank... and it ran perfect for the entire tank. I've added it to the oil of my truck... didn't notice any difference. poured it in the intake of my truck to clean out the carb (on one truck) and the injectors (on another) BIG diffrence. sea foam will have share a shelf with WD40 and duct tape in my garage. |

I've never seen any proof that one is better than the other. I figure I'd rather have fresh oil in it when I start riding it than when it's just sitting in storage for 5-6 months. |

seafoam ROCKS for cleaning light deposits and prepping a motor for winter/long periods of storage. |
in the video it mentioned adding it to your oil, in thru the carb/vacuum line, and the rest in your tank. triple attack lol. that wasnt for storage, that was just proper usage according to the vid. but that was a car. i dont winterize, never will. just curious about usage.
i decided not to use it yet, but i will. already got the can |
I dont change my oil before or after winter storage. Never have, never will. I dont see the point. I change at the recommended intervals.
|
Gas man or others....Seafoam...ok to put this shit in with the gas that already has Sta-bil or is that ill-advised?

then again... I did loop and total it... but I'm about 80% sure that wasn't caused by the Seafoam |
It won't hurt Marko!!
|
I'm convinced. I'll pick up a bottle this week. Thanks fellas.
|
NP... hope it's the end of your issue :luck:
