He's insane...the speed of his rolls at the end is out of this world.

I've got the album of Max Roach vs Buddy Rich, it'll blow your mind.
Here's Roach

Neil's always ready to throw down

But for technical superiority I like Danny Carey

Does Danny Carey's audio quality in that vid sound like shit, or is it just me.

All those guys are insane though. Good thread. I like the drums the best.

Those are some good videos.

Nah it's pretty low quality, here's a better one.

The thing about tool is that they're obsessed with the occult and number theories so Danny plays really odd timed rhythms and insanely complicated syncopation.

Two things I love are the whole and justice for all album and drum solos from Tool and APC.

Another couple of bad ass drummers in the metal world are Chris Adler from Lamb of God and John Boecklin from Devildriver.

Boeck with my fav devildriver song:

Adler at a drum clinic:

Thomas Haake from Meshuggah rocks. His double bass work is incredible.

A drummer who writes lyrics! He's a younger Neil Peart (one of his influences...) And the stacking cymbals is def. Portnoy move.

He's rock solid...as most metal drummers are.

Been listening to a lot of Mars Volta lately and their latest drummer Thomas Pridgen is retarded good.

I'll tell ya who's good....that fucking asshole from DMB. I hate DMB but dood can jam.

PiZdETS 10-04-2008 01:28 AM

I'm with you. I can listen to DMB and appreciate their brass section, their drummer, their violin guy...but I just don't like all of it together. Never got into them.
I'm seeing the black keys on the 10th, super stoked. Drummer isn't Buddy Rich but he's tight as hell. They're from Akron Ohio too which is cool.

I wanna play my drums right now. Couple of problems with that. It's 130 am...not good. And my drums aren't here...they are 35 minutes away.

pots and pans + closing your eyes = Neil Pearts drum set.
In your mind at least. :dthumb:

Wife is sleeping. She would not be happy about that. But fuck it...might have to jam anyway.

PiZdETS 10-04-2008 01:33 AM

It's friday...well saturday now. Jam the fuck out. I'm gonna go jam out on the beer and season 1 of deadwood. HOLLA

marko138 10-04-2008 01:34 AM
