Already got my tires, chain, and sprockets on. New battery and oil is done. Suppose I do really need some new gloves, would love some soft sportbike saddle bags, would think I was the tits if I had me a 2 way radio/intercom.

Other than that I just need to ride!

Ooooh me too! *sigh*

The bike has had the valves checked, new rear, and a new air filter put on over the winter. That's about all I can afford this year. If I had spare cash I'd be getting a new helmet and jacket or possibly a suit.

Holy hell I have so much bike related crap right now, I doubt I need any more, I have six different stands in the garage right now. My list would be:

1. New Track gloves, my Shock Racing GP-1's are beat. Probably Kushitani or Held, or possibly some custom Z-Racing ones.
2. Tankbag, I have soft saddlebags, I'd like a tankbag.
3. I want to do some work to the KTM. First and foremost a new set of bars, I put the ProTapers on and don't like them. "The List" for the KTM would be quite long.

I'd talk to Odie at Special OPS... I talked to him back when you first got your bike and he said he was looking to get his hands on an 1125 setup so he could hack it.

I'll take her when you're ready to trade up.

shmike 01-22-2009 11:34 PM

New gloves.

I am buying only exactly what I need right now. I went WAY over budget this past year racing and will dial it back a notch for a few months.

Once the decision has been made to keep the current bike or upgrade I'll know if I need a full system, PCIII, quickshifter, and GP pattern rearsets.

I need a couple of small maintainence things done, like working rear brake. New tires, a new lid, and I'd like to get a new mesh jacket and maybe some new summer gloves. I have a nice list of little things I'd like to get, especially before the rally, but I'll be happy with new tires, lid, and a rear brake. :D

There's no mountains, much less hills to ride here so I don't have that experience. :idk:

smileyman 01-23-2009 10:00 AM

Whatsa matta you rear brake?

I seldom use the rear at the track but rely on it in alot of city riding situations. I find it useful on downhill approachs track or street though...

ceo012384 01-23-2009 10:36 AM

I've already got most of the stuff I needed to get.

Still need to get ohlins valves and springs rebuilt into my forks.

Need to get the ohlins damper and the custom under-triple mount I want.

The rest is just work, not anything I need to get... put on the new chain, wire up an ignition switch, sell some more parts, put the whole back back together and clean 'er up, learn how to not ride it like a gaping vagina, etc...

Got a response today, guess it got his attention

After thanking me for my interest and service, he said he should have something by the end of Feb, and will let me know when it's ready.

Hmmm... now I may have a choice to make... Drummer or Spec Ops?

Mr Lefty 01-25-2009 04:02 PM

1) Stop buying shit!
I now have a pair of short cuff Power Trip gloves, AGV gauntlets, Cortech gauntlets, Cortech winter gloves, and hopefully a pair of A* GP Plus I found on another forum, Cortech mesh jacket, A* Spinner jacket, A* Stunt 2 jacket, Fieldsheer leather pants, A* leather pants, JR race boots, Sidi touring boots. Cortech riding jeans, Draggin jeans, Icon insulated jeans, 3-4 different shields for my helmet, Icon knee guards... Have I forgotten anything?

2) Maybe pick up another RF-1000.
3) Another pair of riding jeans.

Really think special ops will be cheaper?

The badweb guess is the Drummer is gonna run ~$700-800
I know I like the sound of the Drummer, like ebbs said it needs a chin fairing though.

As for delivery time... Odie says end of feb first part of March will be production. Doesn't seem to be a long waiting list for his pipe, but it's not the being drooled over on badweb either.
Drummer, Kevin has materials in for 10 production units. Still waiting on dyno results from the prototype. My guess is there will only be about a week diff in the delivery time, and there is a longer waiting list (from what people talk) for the Drummer.

Honestly it will come down to looks and sound. I know both of these guys will make sure it performs at least as good as the stocker.
I am just looking to drop a couple pounds and get some rumble out of the bitch!

I don't really have any good pics of the bike with the Special OPS pipe on it... It was actually jacked up to begin with... I wanted the outlets to be slashcut, but Odie forgot... He offered to pay return freight and fix it, but I didn't have the time.

I just found out I may have to be in Alaska soon enough that a 2 wheel trip might be out of the question. If that is the case, its time to get a truck and haul what few things I own up there.

lets see i def need tires but id like to do a damper and an afam/did evr2 520 conversion. maybe go up one out back. also hoping to scoop up another old 600 to replace my 450 as a daily beater and hopefully start saving up some cash so i can scoop an exotic up at some indeterminable time in the future (you hear me triumph? 2010 would be a great year to debut a new litre daytona)

Quick281 02-14-2009 06:11 AM

Get 7.3 liter turbo diesel
Buy and own a gun
Keep losing weight.

A proposed 17hp gain from stock...
No word yet on pricing.

Still think I'm going to wait to hear from Odie, see what his final product is goign to look like.
I know I'm on the waiting list for a Drummer, but no where near the top.

Not bad. Any idea on how far down the list you are and when you can expect it?

No idea... The thread was about 4 or 5 pages long with "put me on the list" posts by the time I sent in an email. :idk: Plus I'm sure there are others not on Badweb too...

I'm actually leaning more toward Spec Ops because there shouldn't be as much of a wait, it should be cheaper, and I hope it will look/flow better with the lines on the bike.

Another week or two and Odie should have something to show at least.
Not like I'm missing any riding time anyway.
