How many miles has your chain lasted?

What kind of mileage are you all seeing from your chains?

All depends on alignment and maintance

23,8XX on my '93 Kawasaki ZR1100. I know it's original as the cycle never left "work" ( Original owner, VP and myself )

I scored a brand new OEM kawasaki chain for $100 off ebay ( retail is $311.53 ) and brand new sprockets off a friend for $65 :rockout:

I read the manual and how it's replaced on my ZR1100 is to remove the swingarm ( and mufflers )

My last bike I replaced what I thought was the original chain at 12k then I replaced the replacement at 25k.

Between 10k and 20k depending on the chain and bike. My CRF150R about once a year small chain with no o-rings and a large rider.

almost 10,000 on the stock chain on this bike, chain and sprockets look great, i sold one of my old R1's to a buddy, he replaced the stock chain at 25,000, and i NEVER lube my chains(just clean with kerosene, wipe off excess..done

18k or so, but it all depends on the alignment and care.

Belt on the buell...

SV has 12Kish i think... still stock and still good.

22K on my stock DID on an F4i. Chains tend to go quick once they start to fail, but so far it is still in good shape. This is the most I've ever gotten out of a chain.

I believe it.

what chain? :rockout:

Most of the bikes I've owned that were chain drive I wound up selling the bike at 20K mi or so, with the stock chain on them.

DLIT 03-30-2009 02:39 PM

I had a stock 535 on my '04 R6 that lasted 19.5k miles. Definitely on its last leg at that point. I traded the bike in before I replaced the chain.

I am slightly short of 15K miles and my chain and spocket still look good.
