Whiner out for 3 races

oops, I meant Stoner:

"Third in the championship, Stoner’s shot at his second title has ended due to a mysterious illness that will keep him out of next three races"

So have they called you yet to fill in? LOL! Good news is Fabrizio will be called out of WSBK to help out the satellite Duc squad and wont be around to take out Spies for a while.

As for Stoner he has the same condition Mat Mladin rode thru on his way to championship number 6...

cuttle 08-11-2009 10:27 AM

Kallio is replacing him (it's in the article I linked)

smileyman 08-11-2009 12:27 PM

Yup and Fabrizio is replacing Kallio on Luca Checcinellos sattelite team. Should be a good show but Stoner is the only one fast on the Duc. Hayden may benefit from all the attention if the team puts emphasis on his side of the garage...

smileyman 08-11-2009 12:29 PM

Oops i mispoke. Campinoti owns the Pramac squad not Checcinelo...

Dave 08-11-2009 02:53 PM

so who is riding for fab?

smileyman 08-11-2009 03:06 PM

I still havent gotten that far, perhaps the dates wont coincide with his WSBK duties. Bet swapping bikes will be hard to do...

The WSBK grid has a tough season itself:

Max Neukirchner is still in a back brache
Regis Laconi is out for good
Xaus broke his femur (he might be back the next race)
Haga is fallling apart (he needed this break)
Hopper is hobbling

who did I miss?

smileyman 08-11-2009 03:23 PM

Roadracing was always a battle of attrition from the days of old. With todays medical advances they just get patched up quicker. Good thing is safety has improved so you have less death to deal with....Crashing hurts and sux but how else are you going to find the limits...

another place where bikes are a hell of a lot more exciting than cars. that X factor of a rider manning out the pain really adds to the excitement

smileyman 08-11-2009 09:48 PM

True! when Haga won at Miller last year with 2 broken collar bones? epic!

fnfalman 08-13-2009 12:31 PM

Troy Bayliss and his amputated little finger still kicked ass and take names.

I don't like Stoner because he has the personality of a dead mackerel BUT I have a lot of respect for him. Obviously his wrist was screwed since last year's crash AND he was sick of whatever ailment. He was pale as fuck during all those after race interviews and looked like death warmed over, yet he still podium finished several races.

I agree with this...don't like him...do respect his ability though.

smileyman 08-13-2009 02:18 PM

He was fast but wild on the privateer/satellite Honda, then gelled w/ the Duc. Dont think he woulda been champ on a 990, probably wont be champ again. I like him cause like Hayden he is a rags to riches kinda Rocky Balboa with a prettier wife!

You know this is where I'm gonna come in with Pedrosa winning the 250cc championship with two broken ankles against Stoner and Lorenzo, I think...:rockwoot:
