Possible new bike?
Hey guys I've got my Ninja for sale on craigslist and surfing around i saw a $500 1997 GSX-750F(Katana) it wont start(thinking new plugs and smaller jets)
And I'm just wondering if a jump from a 280lb, 36HP, 250cc to a 460LB, 100HP, 750cc bike would be a wise idea? Rouge told me i wouldn't be happy with a katana(not that i dont trust her) I'd just like some input. After a little reading I'm not sure if it would be a "bad" idea to get it... I mean if i fix it and its to much for me i can always sell it and get another EX250 or EX500 Here's the bike http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/1750374369.html |
500 bucks?
Carbs need sorting? NAB IT IMMEDIATELY Carbs probably need cleaning |
The problem isn't the bike..the problem is that ur a buck thirty soakin wet. If you drop it, you can't pick it up.
lol You'll be fine. |
That's a big heavy beast. Id take it and if I didn't like it flip it for profit. Sounds like a fuel issue. Wonder if its something dumb like a petcock selector switch
|
Well I've talked to mom Boyfriend about a temp. loan to buy it this weekend
and emailed the guy.. Waiting on an answer from both.... |
Not a fan of the Katana personally, but I would jump all over it. As previously said, if you don't like it, fix it and flip it.

The Kat 600's would normally generate an "avoid" response.
Theres no shame in a Kat 750. As for the weight, its not so much heavy as newer bikes are lighter. 500 bucks is a good deal on a runner with a solid transmission. Good deal on any model |
That's a steal. Katanas are crap. Your call.
|
Hell you can buy it for $500, clean the crabs out and sell it for $1k next week
|
The katana seems to be a love it or hate it. No in between.
If people hate a nice running katana, I'm gonna say a non-running katana is a canker sore from hell. If you can't come up with $500 yourself and it turns out to be a pile of shit, you're gonna have trouble making your money back. |
