GPS Mount and Headsets
So, I've decided to go with the Sena SMH10 headsets for myself and the wife-to-be.
I would like to be able to mount a GPS on my bars (FZ1) and Trip sent me to Ram Mounts. I'll more than likely go with this arm: http://www.ram-mount.com/Portals/0/P...AM-B-149ZU.jpg For my GPS, I'll actually be using my phone (when I get it), the Droid Bionic, encased in an Otterbox Defender case. This should give the phone/GPS/music apparatus dimensions of approx. 5.5x3x1. That should work with : http://www.ram-mount.com/Portals/0/P...M-HOL-UN4U.jpg Opinions? |
Looks like this dude used the RAM mount for his iPhone:

Precisely what I would like to do. http://www.flickr.com/photos/matthew...n/photostream/ http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5258/...4ed1a3a2a6.jpg |
looks awesome, the USB setup is nice. I want to do something like that for mine cause you can charge the Sena/phone and other stuff via USB.

I went and bought a couple of these plugs from walmart. They fit into a standard 12v cig outlet, then wire up a cig outlet on your bike. Gasman has the same setup.

Been contemplating the sena setup too. the ram mount system is awesome, sturdy, strong, stable, and easy to take on and off. http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogResu...0/Default.aspx |

I can on my phone, but its not very responsive. I have heard though that other phones dont respond well to touch through a layer of plastic. Its the type of 'sense' (by heat or pressure or other) that the screen has that decides if it will work.
Yes the box is mounted on a ball, you can spin it in any direction you want |
You guys with touch phones, do they work with gloves on?
|
I have a RAM mount on my SV for my GPS and it works very well.
I have an older Magellan GPS and the gloves aren't a problem, either. |
