never met the guy http://www2.wsav.com/news/2012/aug/2...ed-ar-4420420/ FORT STEWAT, Ga. -- Fort Stewart released the name of the soldier who fatally crashed his motorcycle outside a gate on Veterans Parkway Friday afteroon. 42 year old Sgt. Alvin E. Phillips of Sugarland, Texas. Sgt. Phillips collided with a tree line outside of Fort Stewart’s Gate 8 around 5 p.m, according to Army officials. He was transported to Winn Army Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:41pm. Fort Stewart officials say Sgt. Phillips was a heavy equipment transport driver with 3rd Sustainment Brigade who joined the Army in March 2005 and had one deployment. The accident remains under investigation, however traffic accident investigators said Sgt. Phillips was wearing full protective equipment and possessed a valid motorcycle license. God Speed Sgt.
