I can honestly say I think I would have done the same. It's shitty that the rider got hit, but he completely brought it on himself. Let him deal with the consequences of his actions while you take care of yourself, then worry about the fucktard who doesn't understand inertia...

I've only had to do this once. I was with my dad on our bikes on a highway near DFW airport and this bitch would not get off our ass. So after 10 miles I just got tired of it and slammed my brakes. Scared the shit out of her and she got waaaaay behind us.

Brake checking a couple thousand pounds of steel with a 700 lb motorcycle is a good way to get dead.

If it was on the Autobahn (my guess given the speed) faster drivers get seriously pissed if slower people don't move right. Still, its a pretty big gamble to assume someone who pissed you off by not paying attention will react in time to a brake check.
