The best that the nurses and doctors can do is report their grievences to our manager, and it's up to our manager to take the appropriate action. The problem employees are buddy buddy with the manager. She's pulled these people over from her previous hospital and covers for them in every situation. Our managers have almost no accountability because they're achieving goals laid out by our subcontractor company (monetary shit like copay collections, deductible collections, and shit like that). There's a huge disconnect between our department and the rest of the hospital because of the way the subcontracting shit is set up. To complicate things further, the people who are supposed to be supervising our department are located 5 hours away. It's a fucked up situation all the way around. We're meeting our goals, so the department is technically doing their job and doing it well, but the goals set seem to be at the expense of the actual hospital goals. Might be a problem that stems from being a private hospital rather than state.
