Ahhh... it's been so long since I crafted a glorious multi-quote on here.

Bah, brand loyalty between the big 4 is really just plain silly, it's so squids at the truck stop can have something to talk about. The most common bike to tard is the CRF, they're great bikes and parts are plentiful.

just kiddin, what happened to her, crank or top end.
Well, it's a little hard to tell due to collateral damage. I think a crank bearing got too much play, the piston got a little cockeyed in the cylinder and went up at an angle. A piece of the cylinder fragmented off, the piston crown cracked, and the wrist pin sheared in half. The wrist pin piece dropped down into the engine and jammed between the crank and the case and everything locked up. I believe the cases are actually fine even though there is a little bit of damage to them. The head appears to be fine.

I need crank and bearings, rod, piston, and cylinder. I'm going to rebuild the head with stainless valves and springs while I'm at it. I'll post some pictures in the next post.

The bottom is caped off and all you have to do is JB weld the 1/8" hole ob the frame by the coil, drill and put in two 90 degree fittings at the bottom left side and top left side with some more JB weld. Bottom one aims up, top on eaims down. Slip the original hose from radiator to the bottom one and a new hose from the top one down under the engine. Some some race coolant in the downtube via the hose from the radiator and bam, you have an overflow tank.

Mine has been that way for 5 years.....
How often do you have to drain it? It sounds like the top tube is just routed to the atmosphere?
