I've got the light smoke on mine and vary rarely look THROUGH the shield... only when in a tuck... and even then it's easy to raise above it to look over the top. and I really only tuck when I'm do'n triple digits and RARELY do that at night...

mine came with the dark one, and im riding to work at 4am, the 2nd day i opened it up and went full tuck-and couldnt see lol
that 1st time, the gauge was so bright compared to my surroundings, my eyes instantly focused on that. its cool now tho, everythings alil darker but i can still see everything fine. just something to adjust to
the dark smoke ones are just as dark as the opaque black ones-but u can still see thru em. those look the best to me too
