TV experts: info needed
Hey TV gurus, do PAL and NTSC have any relevance anymore, if I'm hooking up an xbox 360 to an LCD TV using the component inputs? I'd like to take my xbox along on long work trips to India, but I know in the past I couldn't play my NTSC versions of games on their PAL TVs.
My computer plays dvds fine on the hotel TV through an HDMI cable, but my xbox is old enough that it doesn't have an HDMI port. I've got no idea if it would work the same as my computer even if I could use HDMI. |

Nice, thanks!
I'd be bringing the games with me along with the xbox, so no worries about regions, right? |

PS3 doesnt use region coding, but im not sure about 360.
Anyway, the less you play that xbox, the longer you'll have one that works.

Some digital TVs will take both signals though.

I thought that the NTSC/Pal situation only covers the tuners and that if you use the RCA jacks or S-VHS jack, you'll be good to go...

It has more to do with the way it communicates than that type of connector. The tv has to support multiple types of signals to do PAL and NTSC. Digital should of erased this problem, but some morons aren't supporting a common signal.

Eh, I was hoping there was some universal principal at work here. I'll be damned if I can remember the brand of TV they're using at our usual hotel. I'd be surprised if they were all the same brand anyway.
