Cool data. I'm surprised GA isn't ranked higher - just in my office of ~140 people I know of at least 6 people who have hit a deer in the last couple of years. I see them all the time driving in the area or riding in the mountains. Saw a dead one laying on the yellow line that was bleeding out buckets on Tue morning on my way to work. I guess it's just N GA where they are common vs. S GA.

I still have nightmares about the deer that charged my car.

Every night, I look across the street at the field and see about 100 deer. They cross the road constantly.
Hope the hunters thin the crap out of the herds this year.

I've got a band of 6 that I see every morning at the end of our street (several vacant lots just before the main subdivision artery)
They're getting tamer every day. Use to run when I topped the hill...now they stay in the road right up till I get about 10ft away from them. I wonder if they're gonna get bad enough to make me start honking

I believe the WV stats. On the way to Summit Point in the fall, it's not uncommon to see >20 deer on the 7 mile stretch of rural road between the track and the highway.

One every 48 hours?
They need to check out Alberta and Manitoba, I'm guessing the numbers are closer to 5-6/day, during peak seasons. Hitting a dear is nothing. You guys should see the mess when someone hits a moose, which happens a lot around here. It is rare that anyone survives it. Usually cuts the top of the car off, along with the top half of everyone in the vehicle.
