Electricals
So i got a call from my friend Matt today. Now he needs help. He has a 2005 R6 is very good condition. He has ridden it for the past couple days now with no problem since pulling it out for spring. So he ran over to his parents house today for a visit, and went to leave, the bike is dead.
Turn key.... no electricals. Tested battery, pushing good power. Checked fuses. Seems like all wires are intact. Just dead as fuck. Any ideas?????

Slap the battery on a charger and see if it comes back. It may be dead. Make sure the battery wires are nice and clean and tight on the terminals.

Sounds like someone put it in park rather than just locking the steering.... drain on the battery. You said battery was fine... how was it tested?

Some bikes also have a 2nd fuse, a master fuse if you will, that is off and away from the main fuse box. On my old ninja, it was the cause of almost 3 weeks worth of headaches at teh end of last summer when I was selling it. The battery had power, tested it, no power, bought a new battery, still no power, everything was fine fuses and everything else, it turned out that there was a hidden second fuse in the tail that cut power to the rest of the bike.

Maybe its me, but the age seems right about right for the battery to completely crap out.

This is a stretch, but I know from my FZ boards yamaha installed some faulty TPS's (start the Office Space jokes) were the bike would just go dead, after a couple times messing with the key it would come back on. Rumor was the R6's had the same problem. But that was usually while it was moving it would just die. I know it was a recall item on the FZ.
