Default Wait... you mean my Honda isn't tornado proof??

WOW.... some people never cease to amaze me This mother chose to go out and drive her kids around while there's tornado's flying around, then sues Honda when they get hurt. The van got picked up by a tornado, flew around in the air for a bit, landed flat on all 4's and only suffered one broken window?? Sounds pretty damn good to me!! What the hell is this world coming to.....

Darwin why oh why did you fail me on this one?? These idiots need to be removed from the gene pool permanently so no more spawn may be formed

====================================

http://www.courthousenews.com/2009/0...in_Tornado.htm

Quote:
(CN) - A family demands $10 million from Honda, claiming a side window shattered and injured them when a tornado picked up their Honda Odyssey, which "remained airborne for a few seconds before plummeting to the ground and landing on all four wheels. Upon impact, the driver's side passenger window shattered and glass flew into the car."
Two girls suffered eye injuries from the glass and three other family members suffered face, chest and head lacerations, the family says in Prince George's County Court. One girl lost her left eye and another one needed eye surgery.
The father says he warned his wife - a defendant - not to go to the "back to school night" because there was a tornado warning, but she "was upset at the program for not properly caring for her child and decided it was necessary to drive her children to the program. ... A few minutes after her departure, defendant Achumba felt a shove from the rear of the Odyssey, and it was lifted into the air."
The Achumba family says the tempered glass Honda uses in side windows to reduce costs is not strong enough. They say Honda should use laminated glass, as it does for windshields.
They are represented by Jonathan Dailey of Surovell Markle & Isaacs of Fairfax, Va.

Well...she isn't going to get shit. Honda has their own lawyers and as long as the vehicle passes all the Federal Safety Standards, they are not liable.

WOW. retarded fuck central. least one of em lost an eye. theres SOME justice, but they gotta learn murphy's law #1. SHIT HAPPENS.

it passes federal safety testing, and odds are, it uses the same tempered glass billions of other cars on the road use, which is quite durable. to actually break it requires either an impact from a small point or just the right angle, OR substantial force to actually shatter. that shit isnt like glass panes used in house windows.

I would love to see a lawyer for Honda walk in to court and say the following:

"Your honor, we at Honda fully admit that we never designed out minivans to be able to withstand a tornado, however we have also decided that any future honda models sold to the Achumba family will include a warning sticker on the side windows warning them that in the event of a tornado strike where the car is lifted up and flung through the air that the glass may break, and further more all passengers should wear safety glasses to prevent death shards from entering their eyes"

Drive in a tornado? What did she expect? Possibly a flower shower?

Id think the hubby killed their case by stating he told her NOT to leave the house. What kind of mother endangers her children like that?

She should have bought GM. They use driver and passenger side window tempered glass.

Not so sure they're trying to build the same case . Anybody else notice the mother is a defendant in the case?

That would be a hilarious twist to the story.
