Default The Alamo

A friend of mine is a flight attendant and when asked what there is to do in San Antonio by a passenger she said, "you could go see the Alamo."

His reply was, "Oh. What is the Alamo?"

I am just curious for those who didn't grow up in San Antonio...so all of you besides me, do you know what the Alamo is?
