you still don't need to leave. talk to some people, but it should take months for them to evict you. is it even a real notice? how was it issued if you have the right to ask for what you asked for? is it in your lease? even after it is issued, it should take months for police to show up.

Well, because I rented the house from a 'friend', she was supposed to have a lease drawn up and never did and I didn't worry too much about it. I figured that it actually worked in my favor because I was planning on moving to Broward at some point and didn't want to get stuck in a lease for when I moved.

And maybe that's why it didn't take months. I held back the October rent from her demanding that she fix the things that needed to be fixed and finally gave it to her around the 18th because she cried that she needed it to fix the window and other things that were wrong but I told her that I wasn't going to give her the November till it was fixed. Nov Rent was due on the 1st, she went to the courthouse on the 2nd and filed the eviction. I spoke to her this past Saturday night and told her I wasn't paying it till it was fixed and she said that she was going to have a 5 day notice put on the door and she apparently did.

So that's it.

Not having a lease is nice too. You're able to walk away at any time.

well, that was the main reason I never pushed the lease thing, I thought I'd be moving up to Broward and didn't want to be stuck in one, but now that I'm staying in Dade, it really doesn't matter.
