Default Clutchless Upshifting

How many of you guys do this regularly? I tried it today for the first time, and it seemed pretty smooth (after the first couple which were jerky) but I've heard its bad for your transmission...??

there was a huge thread about this on the previous forum with lots of info posted by otb. Basically, sport bike trannys are just like sequential dogboxes and its not going to hurt them much if at all. i do it regularly, still clutch second though

I was trying it in 3rd gear and up... 1st to 2nd is always too much of a jump.

I searched on the forum and didnt find anything so i thought i'd make a new topic... I don't go to the old place much

It won't hurt it if it's done smoothly. I still clutch it to get to 2nd still. On the street, I use the clutch a lot more because I'm not always high in the revs.
