which service manual?
hey guys,
i need to get a service manual. just wanted to know which one/brand you guys recommend and/or have any opinions about. whether i should go for Haynes, Chiltons or OEM. TIA.

I always get OEM, so of the others usually have better pics though.

Hey,Trip is it possible to make a section where everyone can download their manuals? Mine is already digital and would be no problem. Anyone else COULD scan and download theirs right? That would be a tremendous pool of knowledge for our members. This is not my forte' but could you set-up a dummy email account to send it to and put it in a "section"? It seems you mentioned in another thread that we have "unlimited" space,let's use some of it for something other than calling each other names for a change.

Hey J, I don't know if you are still monitoring this thread but I found your manual for FREE! So far I've downloaded it in Russian and German just for fun and I should have it in english by tomorrow. I advise anyone who doesn't have a service manual to check this shit out!http://www.repairmanualclub.com/ There's also about 10 other sites that I'm looking at and I'll let you know when I know,heck I even joined the Kawasaki Owner's Club to get the ZX7's manual in english!

Definitely go OEM. They are the ones who built your bike, they know how to fix it the best. OEM Manuals also don't cram several different models into one book, like a lot of the Chilton/Clymers do. Its much nice to just go to the carb section if you need to fix your carbs... not figure out which one of 10 different blow up schematics is your carb, on your model of bike, in this year, blah blah blah.

Pickle is right there... the aftermarket ones are usually more universal to a few different models. But then again, so is the actuall building of those bikes, hence why they are together.
