Cell Phone Charging...
I am looking at getting a Power Mat, or myGrid, or... something that will charge my phone without having to plug it in. Any opinions?
I have a Nexus One.

Quote]But all of the chargers are device specific. They don't work with all phones, and in most cases, you have to buy more than just the charger. The Energizer Inductive charger only works with iPhone 3G, 3GS and Blackberry Curve 8900. You need an inductive charging sleeve for the iPhone. The Blackberry Curve requires a charging door. Both are priced at $35. My Grid's special charging sleeve is $30 to $35. The special Powermat receiver is $40.

I seem to have found the one topic no one knows anything about...

Seems like a big waste of money to me... I mean, where's the benefit? You still need to have something plugged into the wall and you still need to physically place the device in contact with the thing... I mean, I guess it cuts out the step of plugging the device into the charger, but that's 0.10 seconds I can spare in my day...

Ok, that makes some sense.... I guess since I don't charge all my stuff in one central location it wouldn't appeal to me in that manner... the iPod is always in my truck, hooked up and charging... I charge my work phone off USB in the office... and my phone charges on the nightstand...
