That sucks.
I'll miss the Elise too.

Screw the Crown Vic
RIP Lotus Elise The new Lotus owners are all about fat luxosport cars not purebred sports cars. It was amazing how Lotus could make even a Toyota engine leak oil but somehow they did it. They did it in a car I would love to own someday. RIP Ford Ranger The perpetual nicely proportioned piece of shit that with the right drivetrain would soldier on for 1000's of miles of squeaks, rattles, one day stop overs at the mechanic to fix crap that seemed designed to wear out at 80K just like the Fords of old. Maybe I'll find an old Vulcan 5spd combo and keep it as a...who am I kidding. I wouldn't touch one with a ten foot pole. Old taco beats the piss out of old ranger. rusty frames and all. Fuck you Crown Victoria I'm tired of your fan base. As a car your big draw was having people pulling over to let you pass and to fit a lot of shit in the back when you rented it to travel from point A to point B. for some youngins, this thing was somebodies beater that they all had a blast in. Not me...we had Dodge Diplomat beaters to fill the old RWD ex copcar role. Caprices and Diplomats are cop cars. Crown Vics are fucking cabs that sucked compared to the old Checker's. (I hear they weren't too bad in the last iteration and the suspension was sorted it out...but fuck em anyway.) |

The new Evora is a better car ------ better-looking and better-riding than the Elise. It may be heavier, but these days, 3,000 lbs isn't bad. The Porsche Cayman is right around there too. |

I would only rock a panther if it had a full 03/04 cobra drivetrain swap and a six speed

I think the Cobra motor might have clearance issues with the hood. I'm probably wrong but if I'm right that means you'd have to go find an Iron Maiden t-shirt and get one of those mullet style hoods. |

I say screw all this nonsense.
If I had the time, money, energy and a wife who would notice me not doing what I'm supposed to be doing I would get a Crown Vic and swap in a LS2 and a 6spd. I'd call it a Crown Caprice GTOria or something like that. I'd have that bitch rolling on 16's |

That's the same way the esprit died, they simply ran out of Renault box truck transmissions.
