Mp3 players
any suggestions on the latest/greatest? The fiancee wants one ot use at the gym. I think the one i have is a sandisk and its been working fine.
I figured she would need no more than 4gigs of space since its just for music. And want something with a good battery and easy downloadibility. if work isnt too busy I will prolly start researching them a bit on best buy and some other sites tonight Tom |

Just find a used or refurb ipod nano 1st or 2nd gen. If you want cheap. If you want new, just get a new one.

I had a RCA sports edition from Walmart for $30. I want to say it was a 2g but still held a shit ton of songs. I used it mountain biking, gym, running, etc. Came with clip on ear phones (that make putting a motorcycle/bike helmet on easy) with decent sound. Also had a wrist band or an arm band. It was also splash proof too (which I put to the test when I threw my wet swimsuit on top of it in my gym locker and forgot about it as I did other shit for an hour).
Mine is having trouble now due to me keeping it directly in my pocket for work or just listening and that messed up the plug thingy so I could only get sound from 1 side. I-anything makes me want to punch babies.

My Creative Vision M has been the best. Supports a lot more formats than ipods so you dont have to convert every thing. Plays movies, mp3, radio, etc.
If I'm not listening to music then I'm listening to a movie. If she does want to watch a movie while working out then I recommend an Archos 605 wifi (can get good price on ebay) or one of their newer models (Gen 5, gen 7) |

SanDisk Sansa Clip+
Simple drag and drop for all your tunes. Cheap...great sound (once you get good in ear buds...as with all Mp3 players) FM radio No need to install anything on your computer. Plug it in...drag and drop or use music program of choice. Only thing is that it sucks at playlists. $40 $70 for the 8gb model Ipod Nano Good player...good interface ...more cash and fucking itunes quicktime clogging up your computer Various Creative offerings. I would rate Creative's interface design right up there with Ipod (excluding itouch) I'd grab a Sansa. Cheap Perfect for what she needs. No fluff...no crap to install. Load it and go You can get fancier but it'll cost you. You also don't want to bring fancy stuff to the gym. I think our iTouch is great I bring my Sansa to the gym Last edited by pauldun170; 10-15-2009 at 11:45 PM.. |

I can't even make myself sit down and load a few gigs onto my Creative Zen, let alone 2 or 3 other players.

Someone gave me an Ipod Shuffle and I thought wtf but it's actually pretty cool being so small and all...if you're just listening to music.
