Meusings from a rainy road
I rode 5 hours today in the rain with my new suit and this is what I thought about:
1. My new jacket is waterproof, except for one spot on each sleeve and a hole dead center top 2. My water proof sheepskin lines winter super warm riding gloves arent as waterproof as they were when I bought them, they let water in the holes in my sleeves 3. My non waterproof boots are pretty damn waterproof if I wear plastic bags over my socks 4. Riding in the rain sucks 5. Riding in the rain is better than driving in it 6. Tommy, remember that time that you were riding in the rain all night and you were freezing cold, wet, and tired and I was driving my truck next to you with my bike in the back and I was eating doritos? Those were awesome doritos 7. Songs about the rain make the rain even worse 8. I should check the weather before I go out 9. The internet is full of really cool boobies 10. People like to stare at you because you are the only idiot riding in the rain 11. Pandora radio rocks

Dry those gloves out and then campdry the crap out of them (only lightly over the palms for obvious reasons). If you get into some REALLY heavy rain that will last a while, duct tape will seal them to your sleeves.

I saw a dude riding in a monsoon while driving through Durham NC Wed. I thought he was either the ballsiest or stupidest SOB on the planet. I was hydroplaning on 4 wheels.

I enjoy riding in the rain... I've gotta get some liquid seam sealer and tear out my liner for my jacket and re seal the seams. I fucked up and washed my jacket in HOT water, and the taped seams became, untaped. Derf what size gloves you wear? I've got some A* winter gloves, size XL but they just don't fit me right and I don't like the loss of dexterity. I've only worn them once... I used a pair for the trip up to Omaha in Dec last year... but they were a size too small (didn't have a choice but to make them work) I used these on the way down. I may hold on to them until after my trip this Dec... but really wanna find a lighter pair... |
