Costs of a typical track day
Just wondering what you guys normally spend per track day... what are the hidden costs beyond the price of registration?... like gas for the bike, gas for the tow rig, tires, ect...
So... what do you guys end up spending when all is said and done... and where. also what trackday companies do you guys go through for the track days? |

tires can run anywhere from cheap to pricey, depending on if you get takeoffs, new DOTS, etc...
Some orgs do gate admission is usually around $5 per day per person just to enter the track Hotel, although camping or sleeping in your car can save money if the track allows it Some tracks make you pay for power if you need 120v Cost of prepping your bike, tape up lights, tape down wheel weights, oil change, coolant to water wetter or similar, plastics if you choose that route, some make you safety wire gas to however far the track is gas for the bike, usually a full bike and a 5 gallon can get you through tie downs maybe a trailer if you dont have a truck For this area, I would use sportbiketracktime.com or elitesportbikes.com I wouldn't use NESBA as a noob, the riders there tend to be more advanced and they don't do as good of a noob introduction to the track as STT.

$125 a day I think, plus the membership fee for STT if you never joined STT before which is like $35 a year. Barber is like 250 a day and tally is like 125 a day

That's why I invested in a second set of wheels, unless it's blistering hot like nashville was this past time and eating tires, I can use the same tires for quite a few track days.

A complete breakdown?
Most of the gear I use all the time, but here it is anyway (without looking up receipts). Shoei RF-1000 $400 A* Stunt 2 $320 A* Track pants $190 JR GPX boots $50 Cortech Adrenaline gloves $80 Velocity Gear back protector (CE level 2) $75 Front and Rear Stands- $150 Hotbodies track plastics $490 including shipping and dzus fasteners Spare wheel assemblies (wheels, rotors, sprocket) $500 DOT takeoffs $0 NESBA member fee $75 Beaverun trackday $165 Tank of fuel $12 5 gallon extra fuel $18 Fuel in truck to travel 120 miles each way $72 HAAHAHHAHAAHAHAHA- $2598 TOTAL minus the gear and stands- $1333 remove the wheels- $833 minus fuel- $731 It's fucking insane. But most of the stuff I'll use anyway (on the street/everyday) like fuel and gear and stands and I can even put street tires on the spare wheels. I suppose the only track specific cost is the membership fee, trackday fee, and track plastics for a total of $730. The plastics should be a one time deal. So any time in the next year it'll just cost the trackday fee of $165-190.
