Buell Test Ride
Well i rode the new 1125 cr and my buddy rode the 09 xb12 needless to say we were both unimpressed. I felt that the looks were cool and the riding position was great on the cr, but i would take the tl any day ofver the buell. My buddy who rode the 12 said the same thing, steady unimpressive power that did not feel like it had any bite at all.
Pros: Felt flickable good riding position looks brakes Cons: No wow factor, not really fun to ride (rode for a good 30 minutes through various roads.) If anything it made me appreciate what i have more. Makes me sad i really liked the new xb12 ________ Extreme vaporizer Last edited by Antwanny; 03-14-2011 at 07:52 AM.. |

Good. The less ppl who own em, the less likely you are to compare us to gixxer riders.

I had the opportunity to do a demo ride at Daytona on an XB9R a few years back, and a friend of mine has an XB12R that I've ridden a few times.
My impression of both were that I loved the suspension, I loved the brakes, and I loved the looks. All it needed to make it a great bike was to slap my TL motor in it. The rev limiter kicked in at 5,000ish? Realliy? I know it's the engine design, but hell, I don't normally shift my TL until 7 or 8. Talk about shutting down the party way too early. I banged the rev limiter every time. Fun bike. Needs a better motor.

I missed a chance to ride a buell and meet Eric Buell down in Joplin a couple weeks ago.

I loved Nicks as far as power and handling goes. You just need to learn to abuse the bike in its rev range, instead of looking for rpm's that arent there. It was way too tiny for me, but the thing was on rails and very effective for what it was used for.
I agree, my rc51 had a better motor too, but I still loved the 12. |

How you can say the 1125 isn't impressive astounds me. But...at least you gave them a try.

My feelings too. I'll be looking hard this summer for an 1125 to try.

The 1125 i think revved to 9, but i was mainly unimpressed in which the way the power came on. No power until 4.5k and i hammered it a few times and it didnt seem to pick up hardly at all. Just like rex was saying drop a TL motor in and they would be a blast
