Given that your cell phone is just basically a fancy walkie-talkie that has a bunch of features that most people will never use, I have no idea why anyone would be surprised by this. People have been listening in on cell calls since the damned things hit the market and now that they have hands free, texting, etc. there's a lot more to exploit.

Now to really scare people: How many of you have a cell phone with Bluetooth capability? GPS?

So say you owe your bank money and they can't find you or get you on the phone. They bust your cell phone and start calling the people that you talk to on the most frequent basis. They'll send a truck out to the address on your phone and the addresses on your friend's and family's phone. We never had the ability to "tap" the phone and listen to conversations, but we could gain access to personal voicemail, which usually generated a lot of information.

Eventually I got to the point where I wouldn't do it anymore. I believe that decision factored into my termination.

Every cell phone has a GPS unit in it. In the newer ones the unit never cuts off even if the phone is off or the battery is dead the GPS still send a signal. We use them when we go on a search and rescue. For this is is good. It helps us find people a lot quicker. In general I think it sucks and God help the person who has to listen to my conversations. "Honey can you bring home toliet paper?" Poor girl/guy got a boring day!

The government know everything you do, eat, ect. Take it a step further. How many of us use the grocery store discount cards, debit/credit cards? There's a data base for all of us.

It sucks but it is a fact of life. Big brother is watching everyone all I can say is
