I know the cop that responded to my accident was biased against sport bikes. He accused me of going 75mph and he was ready to write me a ticket but he said he would wait until the investigation was over. When the forensic team came out to investigate they determined I was going 36. I will say that the cop called me back personally and apologized. He said "I'm sorry but I'm going to have to eat crow in this one".

I had an asshat DPS officer that worked my accident. Tried to say that the reason I crashed was that I was going so fast that my front wheel came off the ground. Being as I was riding a '93 F2 at the time, I would have to really work to get that bike to wheelie (being as I've never wheelied a bike, I wouldn't even know how).. and there's no way I was trying to do that going 40mph on a back country road. But then the guy also was trying to question me in the ER while I was vomiting blood, and then threatened my mom with a ticket for trying to "impede the investigation" when she tried to insist on staying with me when they took me to CT.

Just chalk it up to you having more experience from the types of riding and riders that you prefer...
Youve seen my area...typically anytime someone says their going to the track its the drag strip, and you get the deer in the headlights when you ask if they know track racing or MotoGP, etc... I talk to those who talk to me, but unless theres something REALLY cool that grabs my attention, I just go my own way... |

Maybe some of you can do something that I no longer have the stomach for, you could try and befriend these kids and maybe calm them down before they get killed. I don't have the heart for it anymore... Heck when I first moved here, I met a guy named Kacey Fry. He asked me to go riding with him the next day. While he was waiting for me, he decided to do a few wheelies up and down the street by campus. Someone pulled out, Kasey lost it, end of story. I went on a memorial ride for him just before the rally. One of the cops was popping "bunny hop" wheelies on his Beemer while he was escorting us... I don't even do wheelies unless I'm by myself, I don't want to even encourage it. Again, |

I bailed out of a ride early on Saturday cause I was sick of watching the HORRIBLE passes they kept making on cars mid corner. I am by no means claiming I do not pass on a double yellow (hence the "super secret probation" I am under in NC) but I wait till both the car driver AND I know it is clear before I make my pass. These guys I was riding with (didn't really know them) where runnin up on cars and just going around whether they could see or not. Then one driver got into it with one of "us" about "you can't pass on a double yellow" well what does "our" guy do? he tells him "well you tried to block me and that is attempted vehicular homicide"! Are you kidding me. After a few more blown turns in front of me I bailed. Not the type of riders I want to be associated with. And they are all too common.

He was a real dick about it though. He kept asking how fast I was going and when was the last time I checked my speed, then he kept saying "well we'll let science tell the real story". Then the prick followed me to the ER to harass me some more.

Oh I've totally done that before! I'm now very selective about who I'll ride with.
Did you report him? |
