There are quite a few that port in Galveston and that's like a 4 hour drive from us so that isn't a big concern. |

We aren't big drinkers, so it wasn't a problem for us. The galveston ones are probably mostly mexico and the rest of that crap. I will never go back to those shitholes again. I much rather the southern carribbean, virgin islands and such. West carribbean/gulf is a shithole for the most part.

$1000 for 7 days is about $140/day... for two people, figure a halfway decent hotel room is $70 if you're not in a major city or in-season tourist area, $40 for a decent dinner and drinks, $20 for breakfast/lunch... and you're left with $10 gas money Leaving the comforts of home burns money FAST. So if you don't care about comfort, i guess camping is the way to go. And whipped cream gets icky fast, especially in the heat A kiddie pool and a couple gallons of J-Lube FTW

Comfort isn't the top priority, fun is the top priority followed closely by staying under budget. I can have as much or more fun camping than I can in a comfy hotel eating boring expensive food. I've never even looked into a cruise before, so I really don't know anything about it. I won't go if I have to pay for everything. My whole thinking was that you pay this amount up front and you play for the trip. If that's not the case, there is no way I am going to bother with that. |

Too bad you aren't allowed to go.

You can try Savannah. If I talk to my friend she could get you a pretty good deal at the Westin Hotel in Savannah since she works there.
I also think flights into Savannah are really cheap.

My cross country MC trip cost about $2100... You can drop about $1k off that if you don't count my bike breaking down and take into consideration that gas was about $1.30/gal more...

you have a tent and you have motorcycles.
Sounds like you have all the ingredients you need for a pretty decent vacation already.
