People need to WAKE UP!!! (retail store rant)
People are too stupid to realize how much money they are losing. I found a camera I wanted at Best Crap store and there they had it for $250 and their webcrapsite had it at $225.
Well, I just found out that it's just too hard to type on a PC and price match from their own website. Let me repeat that. THEY WILL NOT PRICE MATCH THEIR OWN WEBSITE! Sooooo. The people that take the time to drive to a their store and talk to a human have to pay more than some lazy azz person on a pc that orders on the site and comes and picks it up. May all retail stores burn to the ground. It's sad that I'd rather look at a PC screen and use a mouse/keyboard to buy something than talk to a human. I'm on Dell.com (yes I hate dell too) and they have the camera for $209 and even after tax I'm still getting a deal. |

And you probably could have gotten it cheaper on Ebay.
Common practice for there to be a different price on the web than in the store. |

If I'm not mistaken, Best Buy's website stuff is different than their store stuff, thus the difference in price. You get what you pay for.
Most people don't watch or take advantage, but if you would have bought that camera at the store. Then it went on sale within the next 30 days, you can call them on it and they will refund you the difference. I do it all the time. I also used to get them to price match Circuit City when they were in business even though there wasn't one in our town. I'm all about price matching, sales, coupons, etc. You don't want to get behind me in line! LOL |

They are not always the cheapest, but their service is outfuckingstanding. I try to use these guys when I buy anything camera/camcorder related.

Banks charge more for you to talk to a live human than to use the automated systems.
Lenders charge more for you to make a payment over the telephone than to use the website. They have to pay on the floor personnel. They don't have to pay a server. They shouldn't price match their own website because the product delivery has a different economic model. You pay more for full service vs. self service.

I haven't done it at Best Buy but when Circuit City was still in business a lot of their web prices were lower than the store. They always price matched for me. Instead of going to the cashier I would go straight to customer service. |

Penny's, Sears, Wlmt, Best Buy, Toys R Us. All cost more in the store BUT there are no Shipping and Handling cost which will equalize the cost of purchase.
The 209 dollar camera plus shipping and handling woiuld likely cost you the same as picking one up at the store with sales tax...
